I've heard '17s will be worst.. However, here are some simple mods to fix this: Start by slamming 2" drop with coilovers, slap on some widest 19's possible with stretched out slicks, and most importantly, extreme negative cambers. If your car still drive like what the OP said, you can have mine.

Although I've noticed the steering issue that the O.P. mentioned, and have even used it to my benefit occasionally, it's not the most bothersome defect in the car. On mine, I hate the fact that the driver's seat back position is influenced so much by the gas pedal. It seems like whenever I step on the gas firmly or suddenly, my seat back presses noticeably against my back, and the harder or quicker I step on the gas, the more pronounced this effect is. I know it's the seat because I certainly don't lean back when I accelerate. The seatback is also linked to the brake; the seatback almost seems to disappear if I step hard on the brake. Stupid design flaw. No need for this unnecessary linkage. I can't imagine what it would cost to fix it if the sensors and servos involved ever fail. Does anyone know how to disable these functions?
I also noticed the "throws me to the left when turning right and vice versa" tendencies another poster mentioned. That's stupid, too. If they could get rid of that feature, they could get rid of the bolsters in the seats and give us a little more wiggle room for long trips. "Hey, let's not worry about that side effect.. we'll just put a bandaid on it by adding bolsters to the seats." Stupid engineers. Oh, and don't get me started on how much louder the engine is if you decide you want to go 50mph in second gear. Why should that be any louder than 50 mph in any other gear? It's still 50 mph.... |

Seriously, people just need to get used to the car going the direction the wheel is turned. It's just a minor inconvenience.

I don't know why they don't just put in a tiller like my sailboat. It's a much simpler, less failure-prone mechanism, and it makes more sense to me for the vehicle to go in the opposite direction, as my boat does.

I think the main reason they can't do that to our cars is that our cars aren't barges where as the 760 Volvo my father had was a barge like you wouldn't believe. Actually, in retrospect, I suspect a barge would have been faster and handled better.

I have noticed that sometimes the entire side panel of the car comes apart and flaps around. Typically, a bit of force is required to pop that panel back in place although I question how structurally sound that panel will be from that point on. Typically, it happens when someone accidentally pulls on a trim piece attached to said body panel. The most alarming aspect though is occasionally a person may fall in or be ejected out of the vehicle while the panel is loose. I'm shocked that such a large safety defect could have been overlooked.

While moving, place right foot lightly on brake pedal, reach down with left hand and pull the seat adjustment lever that moves the seat forward & back. Report back with results.

I noticed this dangerous anomaly a few months ago. There should be some sort of safety interlock preventing the use of the seat lock lever when the car is in motion, and it should definitely be government mandated; we should NOT be required to be personally responsible for our own safety. When I queried the typically clueless dealership, they said they'd never had any other complaints and weren't willing to cover it under warranty. My solution was to smear roofing tar all over the seat rails. Highly recommend this install, and the roofing tar fitment is mint. I'm working on a DIY and will post pictures.
