The red lighting is only the footwell. Doesn't change the dash lights.

None...I asked my dealer and he pretty much said hey your our first 2017 and we have no clue. I asked another guy yesterday, but he said he'd contact me today about the maps and my sti lips/skirts and he didn't. I'll text him tomorrow.

I would be interested if the 2017 steering wheel is closer to the driver than the original one. The steering wheel looks a bit concave and I wish I could bring the steering wheel an inch closer to me.

The steering wheel telescopes in and out.

Whats weird is the 2017 steering wheel has a concave in the back for your fingers at 9 and 3!

Power wise, I still felt the huge torque dip, probably more pronounced to me because my FRS has bolt-ons and is tuned. 1st seemed quick, 2nd gear seemed about the same as my FRS, but shorter. Steering wheel was thinner in the hands compared to my FRS, I like the thicker wheel better.
The steering wheel on the new BRZ/FRS is thinner? I thought it was more thicker and has a better feel than the first gen BRZ/FRS. There were some press reviews posted early on describing the new 2017 models having thicker steering wheels.

So do the older BRZs/FRSs, but the concavity channel fits only 1-2 fingers.

True, but I wish I could get it to go even further back. Sometimes it takes me a long time to find a good seating position if someone messes with the driver's seat.

The 2017 feels like it has a vertical indent at 9 and 3 that fits all my fingers, which may explain why it feels thinner as that is the position we mostly druve at I would assume.

It felt/looked thinner on the 2017 BRZ compared to my 2013 FRS, at least that was my observation after driving the 2017. I honestly don't think I've driven a pre-17 BRZ, so not sure how that compares.

I had a '13 BRZ a few years back, this wheel is definitely better this time around imo. I don't hate the buttons like some people do, because the buttons are much smaller than the ones on my '15 STi. They have a soft feel to them. The feel to the steering wheel feels great when I'm turning hard into corners and just rolls smoothly right off my fingers. As for size, it's thicker in a sense when gripping but the steering wheel size looks smaller when facing it. I'm definitely pleased with the steering wheel update. But that's just me.

Quote from the leaked design report regarding the steering wheel:
Quote:
"The shape of the steering wheel and horn pad has been renewed with added audio control switches and change meter switches. Its cross -sectional profile has been optimized for a grip that feels more like a sports car. Premium-feel leather has been used as the wrapped surface material for a better look and feel when grasping the wheel.
..That's all it says, does not show cross-section area

I agree about the steering wheel buttons, they are awesome in my opinion. Small and pretty flush with the face of the wheel, it would be pretty difficult to press one unintentionally. I guess we'll just have to wait and see until people start auto-crossing these
