-____- Definitely have your advanced friend along for at least the first couple heats. It'll be tough to hear each other unless you have those helmet intercom thingys.

If you don't have anyone along to keep you honest then don't even worry about going fast. Work on track etiquette. Remember to look for the flaggers. Always give them a friendly wave on the cool-down lap.

Going to be a long day. Did a rough estimate and I might be pushing close to 30 laps spread across 5 sessions by event's end!
If you catch yourself making mistakes due to fatigue, pit. By my fourth heat I was already done. My instructor pushed me hard but it was an amazing, humbling experience.

Oh come on. My boss just arrived from Germany yesterday morning and is on his tenth beer right now. You should be good for hours yet.

For sure! I'm probably going to be spending most of the 1st session learning the lines and keeping track near passing zones to see if anyone is behind me (and pointing them by). Already know which zone it'll most likely be since I still have the track fresh in my mind from a couple of months back.

Can finally say:

I reckon your OEM brake fluid and pads will work just fine ...... for a few laps ....until the fluid boils out and the pads glaze over .........

They can boil and glaze all they want.. just hold off until the very end is what I'm hoping for.

In that whole write up, I didn't mention a word about acceleration, and you didn't comment. Trolling attempt failed!

You guys are ah picken on me ........

The toughest part of the dirt track was if mud got thrown up on the windshield and you couldn't use the windshield wipers to wipe it off and still maintain speed. Why? Because they were vacuum powered and as long as you had the gas pedal mashed to the floor, the engine was using all the vacuum .....

Yep, we "drifted" in every corner ....... but, we didn't call it drifting ....... it was called a "controlled slide" ......
