I beat a v6 mustang in my grandmother's RX350 0-80. They're slow as hell

So I finally got in my new Hoosiers DOT Drag Radials V. 2 (pretty much slicks) in 245/45/17. Mounted them on some cheap 17 x 8 rims. Took them to the track last night and they are absolutely amazing.
Mods are: Sprintex 210 intercooled kit - 69 mm pulley, airaid intake, flex-fuel tuned by delicioustuning. Revworks headers, invidia overpipe, front pipe, and Q300 catback.
Before the hoosiers I had a hard time launching the car. pretty much had to launch below 3k rpm to hook with the street tires I had on before (265/35/18 pss). Was hitting 12.9xx - 13.1xx.
I decided to launch at 4k rpm with the hoosiers. 1st run - 12.653 @ 108.97 / 60' 1.920.
They hooked so well there was no spin and the car still bogged down
2nd run: 4.5k rpm - 12.678 @ 110.30 / 60' 1.864. Same issue as 1st run.
3rd run: 5k rpm launch. I am #33 right side.
Car felt very quick out of the hole. Was amazing. nearly hit 7s in the 1/8. Had just a tad of wheel spin but tires hooked after a few feet and I flew.

The bad:
Was about to call it a day and wait but decided one more. why not?
4th run: 5.5k rpm launch - dnf. As soon as I dumped the clutch really loud pop out back. Car sat in place and didn't go anywhere. had to be pushed off to the side.
First thought was driveshaft or differential. Ended up being driver side cv axle. I completely snapped it. broke at the hub end. You know what they say. Gotta pay to play. Will be ordering Driveshaft Shop 600 hp rated axles. hopefully can get them in next week and installed by next weekend. @FRS Justin @Dream20b

You're not going to believe it. Stock clutch. I have no idea how it has out survived my axles. It still grabs just as hard as when I purchased the car nearly 4 years ago. I thought that was going to go first but I guess not.

Honestly I don't plan to upgrade the clutch. I've maxed out this kit and I don't really want to go the 335 route. My next goal is to drop an ls3 in once vorshlag comes out with their swap kit. The axles will be needed so I don't mind putting them now, although I'll probably have to swap the entire rear end later since I doubt the differential will hold up to the abuse of a 400whp/400wtq V8.

That diff is tough as nails I can't kill it and I tried you just need to upgrade it. Talk to Mark at Spencer Fab in NH he can hook you up and explain the upgrade. As far as the clutch goes you are losing some time because even if you can't feel it slip it is I guarantee it. If you decide to upgrade ACT has a nice one that's reasonable.

I had fun tonight, never been to a track, ever. Went with some friends for the road course which was being privately rented so I took a shot the drag strip.

My only mod is a delicous E85 tune.

I ran 14.332 to 14.566 pretty consistently with an ET of 96-100.4 mph

I kept spinning first and second pretty terribly. Good news is I am down to the tread bars, bye,bye prius tires.

All in all its a blast and if you've never been, go.

I'm still waiting on getting my Annual Peer Review Bonus to get either one of the new GT86s! It will go through the entire makeover for track days and the Occasional drag day. It's just I want a clear view of what I will do to the GT86 before I move forward after purchase. For sure a concerted effort of forced induction and to still make the car commfortable on the street's like the 991 Turbo.

Since I'm going under 11.00 seconds with the Porsche they are forcing me to get a Helmet and HANS device for my quarter mile runs. I don't mind, but I buy all my "Fun" cars with a Fire Extinguishers. I have already used it twice on the streets when someone's car has caught fire due to springing a Power Steering (1st time) fluid leak and then about a year later a Power Brake Fluid leak (2nd time!). On each occasion the person driving their Car KNEW of the leak and just kept on driving it!!! Lucky for them the fire's weren't that big by the time I saw them and pulled over. These Extinguishers don't hold much but they do the job for a single car "Automotive" fire.

First Idiom of everybody driving a car is Don't Drive with a Power Fluid Leak, your car will eventually catch on fire - just give `Er enough time!

15psi LOLFR. With a bit of water you can get the wheels to break traction that low. But man, there isn't enough meat on the sidewall and power (Just Yet) to make the rear wheel's come up full balls on Top Fuel dragster Spinning.

What are the dragster's running these days on the GT86 and the pioneering FWD JDM Civics, GSRs etc... 14, 15 inch slicks?

I have tried 15 psi and got the results I posted. No guess work all of it has been done.
Here's my N/A run on 15 inch wheels

I don't have a decent turbo run on video as I am still sorting it out...

(Australian, Toyota 86 GTS auto)

Not sure if stock automatic times have been posted, I thought it might interest some.
I did a 16.002 quarter mile, when I have started from ~2000 rpm (brake & throttle).

Simply jumping on the throttle netted fairly consistent times around 16.35.

Edit: the only work to the car is a camber bolt & wheel alignment; max camber (1.3) on the front, 0 toe all around.

1/4 Mile times

Going to do a run this Friday (rain pending) should be nice and cold, I have full EL Borg Warner turbo kit and flywheel heavy clutch and hopefully upgrading ecutek to racerom tomorrow. Rolling on 10" xd9s with 235/40 federals that have some tread. Any thoughts on if I should bother with launch control? Car has about 260rwhp

How worried should I be about breaking stock axles with Hoosier A7's at a 5.4k launch. Grimmspeed intake and OFT 93 octane Grimmspeed tune?

Went to Sonoma for my first time 2 weeks ago, never drag races before in anything, on street tires I was able to run a 13.371 that's with a bad launch and a missed shift at the end into 5th, I def left a lot on the table and I think I can easily get into the 12's with a bit more practice
