You may wish to sift through some of those forums ........ but, as you know, you can't believe everything that is posted on forums .......

You might use Bubba's garden hose, hooked up to an air compressor to see if you can "blow it clear".

OR, the results could remind me of the time I dropped an Agfa 35mm film camera in a rice paddy so, I took it home and took it apart to dry and clean it up. When I couldn't get it back together, I took the pieces, in a cardboard box, into a camera shop and asked how much he would charge to put it back together.

He told me it would have been $50, if I would have just brought it in to be cleaned, but, now that I messed it up, it would be $100.....

So, I bought a new one.

I have spent time on those forums but they arent as well put together as here and nowhere near as active. small market car and 15 years out of production will do that

i'll give the flap trick a try and maybe just unhook all three lines if i can see them and try it out.

oh jesus christ. @humfrz that diy isnt even talking about the right thing. the guy just read breather tube i guess and is talking about the freaking breather lines to the coolant overflow tank not the gas filler neck like the thread is about and OP never bother to come back and correct the info.

sometimes forums are wrong, and sometimes they are really wrong

Your car may be dead, but at least it's finally going to be reunited with Gilda Radner.

It is the breather hose for the tank but I don't know the specific configuration. Something is plugged or kinked. Get a Haynes manual. If it doesn't go into the problem directly it will at least have a relevant section for disassembly. Sometimes they offer some clues specific to a known issue with a model.

Sigh.

Gene Wilder died a week ago. You know this, right? Immediately after his death came an outpouring of obituaries detailing his time with Gilda Radner. This despite his much longer 25-year marriage to Karen Boyer. Time and time again, I read comments and articles discussing him finally being reunited with Gilda Radner.

And that's when I realized the truth: when we die, each and every one of us will be reunited with Gilda Radner.

So don't worry, you will see the truth some day.
