Just talked to the dealer and they told me I was right about the college grad program. Now I have to wait till Saturday to go pick my FR-S! Wish I didn't live far from the dealer or have to work.

Graduation fail

I was upset calculating this info a few months back..they should extend the grad date by at least 3-5 more years *still paying off student loans and want the fr-s*

Heh, this is tempting. I haven't technically graduated yet because I owe the school a few thousand dollars for my last semester, but I could pay off the school, get my diploma and get an FR-S for under $24k. I wish Subaru had a similar rebate

Yeah, both Toyota/Scion and Subaru have their deal breakers. The College program is one of the reasons i'm going with the FR-S. Affordability.

You should definitely go to a different dealership if that is what they're telling you. I graduated this Spring and got my rebate hassle-free. They made a copy of my diploma and took off the $1k from the purchase agreement.
I am not sure about what others said about having to finance through Toyota/Scion to get the rebate, but I was very straight forward in telling them I was financing outside and I still got the rebate.

EDIT: Nevermind... When I went in to finish paperwork I was told I had to finance through Toyota Financial to get the deal /sigh

I will be putting my GF's name on the loan, and using her diploma from 2011 to get the rebate. And also helping her boost her Credit score.

They've had this promotion for about a year now, but it was renewed about a month ago.

As long as she can qualify credit wise and she has a job in the field she graduated in. You will be fine.

From what I've been told, if you qualify credit wise, and you have the required graduation criteria, you qualify for the rebate. So if she doesn't qualify for the rebate but has the graduation criteria, that means she didn't qualify for the credit.

There is a minimum monthly income to qualify for credit, and according to what my dealership told me, TFS minimum income qualification is $1600 monthly. There are some exceptions in which they can try and get you qualified if you have a co-signer with an income more than $1600. But the chances of getting approved is lower because the bank will primarily look at the buyers income more than the co-signers'.
