Good driving/practice spots in Perth?

Hi, new to Perth. Wondering where there might be some nice scenic twisties for a Sunday drive, and also where one might find a relatively safe and secluded piece of tarmac to practice drifts and other technical skills?

Cheers

For a nice Sunday drive and some nice twisty bits in Perth there is the Kalamunda zig zag, and a few places around that area, have only been there a few times many years ago with a few mates. Its a nice area where you can enjoy the car for what it is, while obeying the road rules at the same time.

As for spots to practice driving drifting and other driving skills i would advise discretion when posting on a public arena such as this forum when asking these kind of questions, as any forum member could be anything from a true hardcore car enthusiast to an undercover police officer trolling around. It might be best to use the private messaging system on the forum when asking these questions.

Thanks for that.

Yeah see the sense in pm's, though wouldnt know who to ask. If anyone pms some ideas I'd be greatfull.

You would think the cops might be encouraging of people doing it somewhere out of harms way rather than on public roads and residential areas, I'm thinking of abandoned industrial or some such place, wouldnt do more harm than a few black marks on the ground. Though I'm coming to realize that having too much fun seems to be in and of itself illegal in most parts of Australia.

Cheers

Problem is in the industrial areas like Jandakot, kewdale, Nth Freo etc all have high curbing so if u touch ur in trouble.... The hills around Kalamunda are good but u need a group to keep it safe and radios are a must.....

When i get my 86 ill be organising some spirited drives... Especially a few track days at Barbagallo .

Its been a crime to have fun in this state since June 2004. A few knobs can ruin it for the majority.

Radios are a must up there, since that area has evolved into a bit of a hotspot.

Should be good when we all have out 86's in the future. Looking forward to the first group meet, but at this rate i might not have the car before June 2013 if i dont get my shit together! Was wanting to compare both BRZ and 86 before a final decision.
