I have a tow hook mount on my tC and every time I took it to the dealer (warranty covered water pump replacement and follow up) they managed to bend my plate out, not this extreme though.

Maybe it's something about Toyota dealerships being dumb fucks?

I was thinking it could be when they wash the car? Since it sticks out a bit on the side, maybe something in the car wash gets stuck and it bends but I don't know.

With the way it's mounted, I'd bet it was a shop tech's pants that caught on and bent your plate.

I've watched it happen.

DANG! ....... @Brandond15 ........

Get a grip ....... bend the plate back and get another valve stem cap......

If you keep worrying about stuff like that ....... you're gonna wind up in ICU with tubes down your throat, an IV in each arm and listening to the doctors discuss how they are going to put a bottom back into your stomach .....

Ol humfrz has been there .......

And that is why I am not an auto tech (or anything else dealing with other people's stuff) since while doing an engine swap after the 3rd or 4th time I bumped or got caught on that sticking out it would end up ripped off the car and whipped across the shop.

I doubt the shop had anything to do with the missing cap since they general do not need to mess with the tires to swap engines.

Well they had to check the tire pressure before giving it back to me... It's in the receipt/documents they gave me.

Whyyyy? The car has a federally mandated failsafe system to do it for them. With an idiot light! They shouldn't need to touch the wheels.

TPMS. Sigh.

It's part of Toyota's "necessary inspection"

if you think thats bad, took to TOY dealer contracted shop to check stuttering long time ago, they 'checked my tires,' but when I got home and double checked em, I found my back driver side at 57PSI, whereas, the rest were 33-35psi.
