Whats the difference between an Open flash tablet and a Cobb Access port if it existed for brz/86/frs ?

Both appear to be Flash devices that come with a selection of tunes developed by a pro tuner.

Both can be unmarried and on-sold

Plus with the OFT is maps are open and you or any tuner can develop maps

From my experience, Accessport has a better build quality and a little easier to mount. Also you can adjust things like idle rpm snd launch control rpm on the fly with no laptop

Accessing the ecu wouldn't be a big hassle for cob and definitions exist for standard ecu tables, but investing the time and effort in the actual ECU program code to add extra features is likely not worth their time.

Especially when you have

Ecutek
OFT
Tactrix/Ecuflash
BRZedit

all with a good foothold in the market

Have one for my 2004 Subaru WRX. Great product but only needed if you plan on changing tunes a lot. Only thing I have done with mine since I did my stage 2 e-tune about 7 years ago is clear/read codes, reset the ECU and did a few logs when I had an IACV issue. Some of this you can do with a 25 dollar reader. If there are already products out there that are cheaper why offer such an expensive product. Some mount and use it as a gauge but that's one expensive gauge.
