I plan on putting one into the USB slot in the front. And the other one behind the dash , probably connect a flash disk or something to it.

Installing the unit tomorrow , hope I don't mess it up >.<
I connected one of the rear usbs to the front dash oem usb slot. I found that it would stutter and fail to play music for some reason. Best off IMO to just get a 32gb microsd and load all music onto that and put it in the front slot.

I did the same thing and haven't had any issues using the oem slot, but I also recommend using the 32gb msd. Someone had posted that they were able to use 64gb cards? I haven't been able to with the stock image on my joying 5.1.

Also what eq settings are people using with the stock unit? Wouldn't mind checking them out. I am using a modified Jazz setting loud off. I haven't changed my speakers out yet. But it does it get pretty loud even at half volume using flacs.

Good news everyone , the JOYING logo on the new headunits in the front can be removed. Its just a sticker.

Also Is it supposed to come with a free SD card with maps on it? Mine didn't come with any SD card.
How do I get the offline maps? Did you guys download it from somewhere?

Is there a simpler way to use the OEM Aux port. Removing those pins in the AX-TOY28SWC is super hard.

Your goal is to steal pin 8 and crimp/solder it up to the amp power wire (Fused, orange w/blk stripe) and put it in pin position 9. You can cut/tape the antenna wire from pin 8, it is not needed. All work is done on the supplied adapter harness, so you are not modifying the factory harness at all.

Antenna requires an adapter which is available from Metra, I did not find the exact adapter yet as I do not use the radio at all
Hold on so after moving pin #8 to #9. I also need to solder the orange black wire into #9? I thought it was just moving 8 to 9.

Also what about the Radio antenna blue amp wire from the harness? Does that also get soldered on to this wire, So all 3 wires on to this pin ?

You can just move the pin from 8 to 9 I think. The amp wire and antenna wire should both output a 12v signal when the headunit is on, they can serve the save purpose. The blue wire off the antenna adapter also needs to get 12v, for which you can tap the wire of the pin you moved.

Joying Android 4.4.4 Kitkat Toyota Head Unit

Thanks...Everything is setup now .... Except my subwoofer , I just connect the RCAs to the red/white output and the orange black amp continued and should be good to go right ?

Btw why is the Bluetooth music quality so bad ? It makes no sense. Anyway to fix it ?

It's such a deal breaker for me since Even the wifi tethering doesn't get setup automatically. I gotta go
To settings and it takes a while

That's odd. Did you do anything to mess with the Rom? Like an update? Or if you installed a bunch of apps android might be trying to optimize them during the boot. It happens on my phone and causes it to take a long time booting when it does (literally 10 mins)

I changed the intro logo Toyota. But that can't be the issue since I changed that before as well and nothing happened.

Picked up a Joying JY-UL124 from Amazon to try out. Its the 7" with the volume in the middle.

Wired it up this evening. Everything seems to work good except the bluetooth.

I cant get it to pair with my ELM ob2 dongle that Ive used with several phones. The joying unit sees it but wont pair it.

I had picked up a obd2 to USB dongle as well with my order and it doesn't seem to function with the Torque app either.

I also have Delicious Tuning flex fuel bluetooth kit and the app crashes if you pair it to the hu then try to connect to it through the app.

The unit pairs with my phone ok but thats not why I bought the thing.

Any help?

Google searches are revealing there is a issue with these 5.1.1 units and the bluetooth.. I hope there is a fix, that's the whole reason I bought the unit.

TIA

Did anyone get an aftermarket microphone? The one I bought uses a TS connection (link here). The stock one uses a TRRS connection. Does it matter? I assumed Microphones only needed power and ground which TS provides.

I am not getting ANY sound output when I am trying Google voice search or on the phone. Shouldn't the internal microphone pick up sound even if my external one isn't?

I could just be doing something wrong altogether.. the software has been buggy so far.

What is the bluetooth name of your dongle? Apparently the klyde units using their stock rom will only connect to generic units that are called 'obd' or 'obd2'. Mine is called OBDlink LX and it behaves the same as yours. Sees it, but nothing happens.

errr. I forget the bluetooth name. Ill have to pull it up. Its a generic elm327 unit though.

Karl07 is using a obdlink usb cable and says it works fine, so I ordered one of those to try out.

I emailed Joying and the only thing they can tell me is to buy "their" obd2 unit. Which if thats all I cared about would be fine but it still doesn't fix the problem with it not pairing to other hardware.

Bit frustrating.
