First of all, when I went to Dorman's site to check it out, under 2013 Scion they did not have FRS listed. Massive fail.

Second, when I pull up Subaru BRZ, all the studs they have available do not have the threadless dead zone at the start of the stud. This makes it easier to cross thread the lug nut. The ARP has the dead zone which forces the nut to go on almost perfect straight every time, reducing the risk of cross threading.

Just my 2 cents.

Dorman wheel studs

Wheel stud wear out. I bought dorman prior to arp having standard length stud. Eventually if I need to replace them again I will install ARP as I have them at work.

What are you guys using for brake fluid? My Motul RBF600 is about ready to be changed and I'm considering trying either Torque RT700 or Castrol SRF. I realize that's probably overkill for AutoX, but I'm planning to do some HPDE and Track-X events in the coming months as well.

I like Valvoline DOT4... Cheap as chips, doesn't get destroyed after a track day like RBF600 and did I mention it's cheap? I haven't boiled it either, even while destroying a set of XP10s on track.

That said, the Torque RT700 is apparently the way to go if you can afford it.

Big shout out to FT86 SpeedFactory for helping me source some STX-legal LCAs on tight timeline. If you guys haven't shopped there I recommend it, they understand what autocrossers need.

I've always had great experiences shopping with them. They aren't far from Chicago, so shipping to me is super fast too.

Plus, one of the guys who works there was my instructor for my last track weekend! Very nice and helpful instructor. They really love these cars there and appreciate the hell out of this community. They deserve our business.

not that it will make much difference at autox but will that disqualify me from STX?

3.5 seasons @ 50 tire swaps a season (minimum). Never had one stud break, strip, or give me any grief whatsoever.

I see a lot of people with bushing upgrades. do they really make that big of a difference? I have SPL lower control arms, which has titanium bushings, i know i need to change it if i do enter serious competitions, i guess i can just call up SPL and ask if they have urethane bushings for it instead?

Depends what other mods you have done/will do.

Just as an example, with stiffer rear springs (or coils) the upper control arm bushings squish, limiting the spring/damper combo's ability to control wheel movement and allowing your camber to adjust itself. (Replacing these with poly will limit the probability of wheel hop and will improve traction over both smooth and rough surfaces)

Yes, bushings make a difference, but if you pick just the right ones you can limit NVH and yield 80% of the performance improvements with just a few bushings.

As for SPL, why don't you just fire them off an email??

Yup, studs usually are not the problem; however, I do feel the oem lugs are crap.
