I can't speak to Stop Tech pads, but I've found my W3's to be excellent. The stopping power and modulation has been great and they really made a big difference at my last AutoX. It was like night and day compared to the stock pads. The W3's do dust some, but I have black wheels so no biggie.

I had stoptech pads with OEM rotors for a while. They worked really great for anything but track use, and after 15min they would overheat a bit. But for autoX and street use, they were quite good. Never needed any more bite.

Then I swapped out the front rotors for OEM size DBA 4000 and EBC Yellow (oem rotor and stoptech pads still in rear). For the street they border on overkill, but are awesome. Hoping they work a bit better on track, have a day lined up in a couple of weeks, so I don't know. But for AutoX they have helped immensely.
