2016 BRZ low speed knock/pop

I have a 2016 BRZ with less than 400 miles which developed a light knock/metal pop sound I can hear when going over small to medium sized bumps at low speed. Probably less than 30mph.

When cruising at normal speeds I can hit bumps small to large and I don't hear anything. It's hard to tell where exactly it's coming from, but I'd say it sounds like it's coming from the front. Any ideas?

Well, @jplake, WELCOME to ....The Forum ...... and BRZ ownership ...... and to all the little sounds these cars make..........

Since your car is new and still under warranty, I would suggest you take it back to the dealer and ask them to check it out.

Meanwhile, you may wish to check and make sure all the lug nuts are tight.

It could be lots of things from an under panel lose, to a brake caliper being lose, to lose rear axle nut, to a front strut needing to be tightened up, to a....a....a.....a........

Then again, maybe the suspension is just stiff from being new.

I hope you get it sorted out soon.

I would recommend you check this forum for all of the weird yet normal noices this car make. This is not by any means a car where you wont ever hear anything, on the contrary, its filled with sounds you have never heard before on a vehicule, and they are "normal".

Dont put the dealer thru the task of tinkering the car for nothing. The only thing you could get out of it is a car in worse condition than it was.

So yeah, just inspect obvious points, lug nuts, make sure suspension brakes are still there and that the engine is still working and you should be fine. Record the sound if you are really worry and post a video, many people will be able to tell you what might be fairly quickly.
