It appears thus far the allocations were not based on preorders but past performance of other Scion model sales. In this economy, I would think Scion would rather "seal the deal" with preorders, then move on to distribution to other dealers.
I think this is the biggest issue and finding a dealer that isnt injecting them with those extras to make more money of the cars although, some people want these extras....

That sir, is what I did. Except I drove to get to it. I didn't want any additional people shuffling the car around.

Concerning AutoTraders, Cars.com, etc. I noticed the FR-S I test drove was not listed on those websites. When I asked the salesperson why it wasn't shown on those websites, he replied that the dealer didn't want to spend the money to advertise on those sites. With the rapid turnaround, it wasn't justifiable to list it. You may be better off calling the dealers to get a better reflection of what is out there.

That is a good point, i noticed that every dealership within a 6 hour drive of me hasn't listed the FR-S or the BRZ on their website but they do have either a car in the showroom to view ONLY or 1 car for test drives only.

I ordered a whiteout 6MT FR-S yesterday from a dealership in Edmonton, AB and they are confident that I will get my car in July... Praying he is right!!

Also--the prices on Cars.com didn't include the dealer-added options like the crappy tint and Thermoguard (+ $3000 rims at one dealer) for the couple of dealers I went to before we called the third dealer directly to avoid wasting time. We checked to make sure there weren't any unreasonable add-ons before driving there to buy my FR-S.

Got MSRP + a trunk mat and bumper applique that were already in the car for my Whiteout AT FR-S on June 2nd in Long Beach at Cabe Totyota/Scion. Was a little less than 3 hours from test drive to out-the-door, I think.
