You can also have your stock seats modified. I looked at doing that, getting ventilated stock seats. However, I don't drive the car enough to justify. I'm in a phase for cars where price>luxury.

I'm going backwards. Lotus, Aston, AMG, BMW, so I'm missing creature comforts. Leather, heated seats, only the Merc AMG had a/c seats, but I actually plan on keeping this one forever,so I want to add in what I can.
Just can't afford it! I make up 112% of what I say. |

I never had the ventilated seats. I came from BMW too. I much prefer the FR-S. Luxury is overrated.

But, you don't miss the lights that turn to the same degree you turn your steering wheel to illuminate where you are actually going?

Yes, I do, actually, because I drive a country road 7 nights a week!

I came up from my first car being a manual choke with rust so bad in the floor pans we had a special floor mat so the rooster tail when raining didn't shoot into the passenger's face. It was a 78 Corolla in 93, and that was my definition of luxury for very many years. It was freedom.

Yes, I used the low profile RECARO slider/rails I had from my previous Recaro seat (Ergo Trend)

Today I have tried Sportster CS and while I love the shape, the seat is too wide on back/shoulders for me. I can slide in them, while have a snug fit in OEM seats. Problem is, that OEM has zero lumbar support any my back is hurting me. Doomed?

Unless you are 100% track junkie, I think the point (and what Recaro does *very* well) is to keep your hips from sliding. If it's not wide enough at the shoulders, you'll be unable to get a comfortable spinal position, which is part of the problem that I have with the factory seats.
I have Recaro Sportster CS's in my FR-S, and they totally transformed the car as far as I am concerned. I still tell people that the name "FR-S" is an acronym for "fvcking rotten seats". Lol |
