coilovers. I have been thinking about it ever since I bought my car over a year ago. I ended up meeting halfway with getting springs, but I am still debating on coils. I already have 4 specific coilovers in mind and am still debating... who knows when I will make a decision.

I'm looking at RCE Tarmac 0/2, RSR Clubracer, and HKS Hipermax SP. with the HKS being the cheapest and good spring rates, that is probably what I am leaning most towards. however, the many reviews posted about them are lackluster so I am not sure whether or not they are comparable to others such as RCE or RSR where real testing has been done with them.

Both oft and tactrix are opensource, tactrix is cheaper option but easier to make a mistake flashing.

once you get in to the tuning side their not really any difference as your using romraider in most cases to ecit and just using tactrix or oft to flash. OFT makes logging heaps easier and has lots of other useful features like gauge displays etc to make life easier.

you can also self tune with ecutek its just more expensive, but may be a option if your going flex fuel or turbo/sc and you don't want to run the oft tuned kits.

Yeah I've been playing around with ecuflash and romraider so far I liked ecuflash but I don't know what the difference is between the two. I just know I like ecuflash cause it was pretty straight forward with setup. I will be PM'ing you soon though.

Romraider is rom/tune editor only it does not support flashing.

ecuflash is a combined editor and flashing software for tactrix hardware.

people ofen use romraider to edit and ecuflash to just flash.

their is a bit more definition support for romraider with some roms, it is possible to convert romraider defs to ecuflash defs with a little effort.

Took me a while to pull the trigger on an OEM Audio + setup. The stock sound system was almost tolerable and I really didn't want to add weight to the car. The fact that the location where the sub goes also turned out to be the lightest corner on the car, when I put her on the scales, was just enough of a nudge to put me over the top.

been debating on selling or modding

The car is my DD and racking up 300+ miles per week. It looks great, goes great, very fun, cheap to maintain, great gas mileage. But its noisey at 80-90mph, cheap feeling inside, stereo blows. Its great fun around town but on a 40 mile highway commute to work it wears on me a bit.

Wheels, drop, stereo, sound deadening, tint, bodykit.. looking at 4000+. Money that could go towards an e90 m3, c63, or cla45

ughh but a modded frs looks so good too

I have yet to get my frs but I have been thinking forever what color combination I want to do. I'm thinking asphalt gray w/ gold rims... or white with dark grey rims. Color is always the hardest choice for me

Definitely my wheels.

Coilovers were easier since I just picked a budget and there are only so many good choices out there for each budget level.

Wheels on the other hand, gotta think about:
1. 17 vs 18"
2. How wide? Weight and handling vs concave look
3. What offset?
4. Depending on offset, can your current suspension even fit it?
5. Is it worth it to upgrade suspension (including LCAs and etc for camber) to fit a certain wheel setup?
6. What bout tire size? Meaty, rubber band, neither?
7. The damn tire choice itself.
8. TPMS, matching lug nuts, center caps, etc.

Ended up with this, done the past weekend:

The only thing that would require more thought and technical detail (IMO) is forced induction or engine swap lol.

What would those do that your FRS doesn't? They're definitely more luxurious, quieter inside, and faster. They're probably less wearing on long commutes. New BMWs and Mercedes should have maintenance plans, so that's not an issue. The gas mileage will probably be a little (lot?) worse. Will they be as fun to drive? How important is "fun to drive" for your daily driver compared to noise and comfort? Then what does your FRS do that those wouldn't? The reviews I read when our car came out said it was the best driver's car short of a Carrera 4s, but how important is that compared to the other desires for a daily driver? What about a Carrera 4s? The mileage isn't great, but it's very nice inside and a blast to drive. And PASM makes for a very comfortable ride.

Asphalt grey makes wheel choice hard. There's the plain old silver, but everyone has silver. You could go gunmetal or black, but it just blends in with the rest of the car, where on a white or red car it would stand out. You really only have gold or bronze, or esoteric colors like Volk's velvet blue and red. Which would look amazing against the grey, but they're expensive and a pain to keep clean.
