BT audio fade-in

Hi all,

I just got a 2013 BRZ premium and am having an "issue" with the infotainment system. Every time it's quiet for some period (eg between audio tracks or steps in navigation) and then the audio comes back on, it fades in from quiet to normal volume. It's especially annoying when navigating on my android phone since "turn left on main st" becomes "-eft on main st" making it easier to miss, or misunderstand directions.

I dug through the settings to no avail. Am I missing a setting? I don't think the issue is with my phone as I don't have this problem when using other BT speakers.

Thanks

What player are you using on your phone, and which phone? sounds like crossfade to me. Android has audio priority levels too, and some other things that can cause this behavior in the newer android versions.
Unfortunately android since 4.4 has been know to have a little more issues with BT audio specifically in relation to enhanced permissions handling and power saving. for example you can check your build.prop if you have lpa (low power audio) enabled by your rom, this can cause all sorts of havoc.

it happens when starting pod casts from "pocket casts" and also when using google maps for navigation. Both together and separately.

I have an up-to-date nexus 5x.

I never had a problem with this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003PPGOC0/
