I think you might hate it & think it has some problem all the time... Especially Coming from Acura,Lexus,BMW. 😂

From your first post alone I would tell you stick with Lexus. Unless you wanna start tracking & understand what the car is really for.

If you gonna move to Japan or middle of Europe /New Zealand with God amazing road then go ahead & buy one there. Lol Driving this car in most of us is like brain dead boring due to our wide & easy boring roads.

In the end, unless you appreciate the kind feedback the car is giving you, I can bet you are not gonna like it. Especially since you only drove Acura/Lexus/BMW before...You probably will just classify them as unwanted noise & vibration.

There's a side of me that always want to roll around in a mint Lexus LS400 and just leave it totally stock. But then again if I want to spend some quality time on a couch, why not just stay home. The business of driving for me does not require luxury.

I don't think I would buy a BRZ in Florida unless I planned to track / autox it regularly. These cars really only shine when you can throw them around corners and drive fast.

But really, you should drive all the cars you're considering and decide after that. No sense in investing too much thought into it before you even know if you like how the BRZ drives.

Goes both way, you could spend money making a sport car luxurious or make luxurious car sporty. Imho I'd pick the body style I like best (twin) than make it look luxurious inside, than you'll have both lol or get a BMW/Lexus than pour more money into it making it look more sporty (outside, maybe extras on inside).. preferences..

Honestly, as you live in Florida (where I'm from BTW), the twins aren't going to be that great.

I'd want a straight line car that's convertible...

It depends of what you want. Personally I believe it is useless to change just the exterior. You'll get smoked by the others and then you'll feel silly. Then you'll start thinking to change also the internals, looking for forced induction etc. The chances will be that in the end you'll spend much more money and have a car with problems. This platform was built from the beginning with NA on mind and it has a HIGH compression ratio engine. This leads to many design issues and it is not easy to MOD it. Do you want to buy a car which is easy to MOD? Get a car with a turbo from factory, then change the ECU parameters with a COBB kit or something similar. You'll have much more potential. Even a bigger turbo will be easier, depending of how much the stock engine can handle. The best reason to buy a BRZ/86 is if you want to have an affordable, light and nimble car. By today standards it will not be slow, but not fast either.

Too many variables. Is it a daily or weekend toy? Will you want track it or do some auto cross?

Assuming you will be moding (regardless of car you buy), can you afford the higher price tag of moding a luxury brand?

If you love moding as a hobby un to itself then the twins are a fantastic starting point.

All said and done I'd make testing each candidate as my first step.

BRZ vs Lexus - is this a joke???

Have you even test driven any of these cars - Lexus is a boat, BRZ is a go kart in comparison.

You won't like the BRZ. It's rough, noisy, slow and cheap. I wouldn't even bother with the test drive.
