This is my biggest curiosity:

a) Will the new pump be silent, and
b) If so, would the dealership swap the NEW pump in under warranty, as they've been doing with the old pumps for those dumb people who think it will help?

Interested to see if the new manifold will be backwards compatible, and how the car drives with the new final drive. (Also found it funny that they felt the need to beef up the transmission to deal with the whopping 5hp increase the car has)
The new manifold may not work as well on the older engine. They explain that they switched many other things to match the different flow rate. And according to this document, the only thing they did to the transmission is increase the strength of 6th gear.

Yeah I read in more detail and also saw that they had redesign the components near the manifold due to the new shape.

I'm assuming a diff swap would be simple, and hopefully the new fuel pump finally silences the crickets

Official 2017 MY CHANGES (Full Document) and Backwards Compatibility Discussion

Damn, all this is sweet & amazing but doesn't this mean torque dip actually got bigger? Lol

But I guess I have to look @ junk yard for red 86 intake in the future.

Basically what I gathered from what I did read. Seem to use the increase HP as an excuse for some of the "reinforced" improvements. Basically acknowledging that since they (Toyota/Subaru) will not provide a turbo version, they will provide a better platform for what a lot are already doing.

I wonder if the new intake/air box is compatible with MY16 and older.

Wonder if they will make the STI lip kit they had available before the refresh, work for the refreshed 2017 body? Mainly just making it work with the new front bumper.

Looked through the document. I am surprised at the changes. I would easily call them significant. I might go test drive one when they release just to see the differences.

People referring to the manifold being actually red are just trying to be funny right? You do know that's for illustrative purposes?
