Again I don't find a need to mess with anything. Mine is a long haul commuter so the less I fiddle with things the better I feel.

I have the TRD drop in and catback so am a little louder than stock but not bad. Where we have our cottage/trailer the speed limit is 20KPH. There is this one woman that kept screaming at me to "slow down" every time I drove past her trailer. On Saturday I had enough and pulled over and asked her how fast she thought I was going. She said "at least 30". I told her to jump in and take a ride. We never went over 18. I can't go over 20 since the 3" high speed bumps have no mercy on my 3 1/2" clearance!
She apologized.
The moral of the story is that the noise really does mess with people's heads.

In summary.

IMHO, the FR-S is just fine right out of the box, for it's intended purpose.

How it "feels" to you, on an extended test drive, is "what it is".

It takes a few hundred miles behind the wheel to "learn" how to drive it ...... just like the ECU learns your driving habits ....... YOU will "learn" the cars capabilities and limitations.

THEN, if you find a weak point in your car (for your driving purposes) there are lot's of aftermarket stuff to modify the car's behavior.

If you're just driving around town, there's no real issue with having the AC on.
Automatic comressor cutout - excellent!
Around town - OK, but keep rpms up I understand.

I agree with OP. If Toyota could just get rid of that vicious torque dip. I mean 158 ft/lb of torque at 3500 rpm is perfect for extracting all the potential of this no-compromise racing chassis. But 153 ft/lbs @ 3500.... just unacceptable and undriveable.

lol

I asked a few women to jump in my car and take a ride.

Unfortunately, they all called the cops on me.

What's your secret?
