AT RPM Hunt Issues

Hey guys.

So my issue happens in a couple different scenarios. I'll try to explain it the best I can.

First off, when I shift into second gear, and I am rising in RPMs, the rpm needle always pauses around 2500-3000 rpm for a split second then begins to rise again steadily.

The other scenarios is when I downshift or upshift. So let's say I downshift at 3000rpm. The car rev matches up to 4000, then once I apply a bit of throttle the rpm drops about 200-300 rpm and then begins to rise steadily again.

Does anyone have these issues with the AT FRS/BRZ?

Thanks guys.

Ive noticed lots of odd behaviors with my AT, including this one. Most of it i just chalk up to being the oddities of the vehicle.. i would love to know if there's a "fix" for it but for me I have not been concerned.

At what speed does this happen? Almost sounds like torque converter lockup

A know issue and there is a TSB for it.
Note: The TSB is for 15s and 16s but many have reported success on earlier ones when they had the flash done.

This issue is well discussed through many threads but this one gives about the best info- http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...=96615&page=12

I've already had that tsb done and it helped with the hard shifting. I still have this issue.

I found a couple posts about it just now and people seem to think It's the torque converter locking and unlocking. That explains the downshifting/up shift.

Still doesn't make sense as to why my rpm pauses in second at around 2500-3k rpm
