AT RPM Hunt Issues
Hey guys.
So my issue happens in a couple different scenarios. I'll try to explain it the best I can. First off, when I shift into second gear, and I am rising in RPMs, the rpm needle always pauses around 2500-3000 rpm for a split second then begins to rise again steadily. The other scenarios is when I downshift or upshift. So let's say I downshift at 3000rpm. The car rev matches up to 4000, then once I apply a bit of throttle the rpm drops about 200-300 rpm and then begins to rise steadily again. Does anyone have these issues with the AT FRS/BRZ? Thanks guys. |
Ive noticed lots of odd behaviors with my AT, including this one. Most of it i just chalk up to being the oddities of the vehicle.. i would love to know if there's a "fix" for it but for me I have not been concerned.

A know issue and there is a TSB for it.
Note: The TSB is for 15s and 16s but many have reported success on earlier ones when they had the flash done. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/attac...1&d=1443640063 This issue is well discussed through many threads but this one gives about the best info- http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...=96615&page=12 |

I found a couple posts about it just now and people seem to think It's the torque converter locking and unlocking. That explains the downshifting/up shift. Still doesn't make sense as to why my rpm pauses in second at around 2500-3k rpm |
