The fact that getting that point across is more important to him than expressing an identity of his own is definitely sad and possibly disturbing. It would still be sad if Nick Merrone were a widely known public figure, but that doesn't seem to be the case. So that makes this seem sort of stalkerish. How many times have you had to explain your name? On the surface your name would imply that there is no way you should be driving a car.

Pretty sure. I didn't dive into it since I am not a stalker. Just saw enough to be sure. He will come alone and tell us soon anyway I am sure.

Or maybe not. What if he's not Nick but has fooled you by masquerading as him, and now he has Nick's VIN number and is trying to gather information on him for free when he ought to just pay the $40.
