I like the pre 96 cars from Stuttgart...built to a standard, not a price. nothing beats a W140.

the brz is comparable to the 968 platform as far as performance and handling.

SquadRon obviously doesn't have much tolerance for the high potency stuff.

Go lie down and you'll feel better in a few hours. LOL

Good comparison. Really shows what a relative bargain the twins are - '92-'95 968s in good shape on eBay Motors going in the $20-50k range.

You add in cost of upkeep and the bargain sky rockets. The only part that kicks the crap out of the bagain is depreciation on the twins. Even that becomes less of a factor if you are actually going to drive the 968 and rack up miles though.

I agree. Considering the fact that the 968 isn't really as collectible as other Porsche models, though, what would be the point of owning if you weren't going to drive it? I have a friend who used to autocross one up until about three years ago.

Speaking of upkeep on a Porsche, I bought a '77 924 from the estate of a friend's mom who passed back in the late 80's - car had less than 35k on the clock and I paid $3,500 for it back then. I was living in Portland, Or. at the time and one rainy day (lots of those!) the windshield wiper moter quit on me. I called the local Porsche shop and was told they didn't repair them, just replaced. $600 new in 1990. I took the thing out of the car and figuring I had nothing to lose, pulled the case apart. The whole armature and packing grease were covered/full of rust. I cleaned all the grease off, polished the armature, re-packed it with fresh grease, hooked it up and the thing ran like a champ until I sold the car a couple of years later. Never called Porsche again and did all my own work after that. Sold it because it was nickle and diming me to death - have never regretted that sale.
