Had the same issue when I got our 86 so finished up going to Target and bought a couple of red exercise mats for 12 bucks each and put 2 layers on the base one cut to sit inside the bolsters and the other covering the whole bas then one layer for the backrest that's cut to sit inside the bolsters as well then cut some strips of varying widths for lumbar support which I just tried until I found the right combo to make it comfy.

https://www.target.com.au/p/target-a...s-mat/57346106
It's definitely red more than pink, well ours are

Back pain for both of us disappeared and since then I have taken the smaller of the base pieces out and still all good .

oiiiii. depends on the injury.
the docs in north america have more of a pharma persuasion.
but definitely, if you think that it will make it worse, please abstain from gym.

i don't know your situation, so if i'm way off on this, please disregard:
any injury in the back may be made better by making sure you do specific exercises to strengthen your muscles. this will keep the disks in place, keep the posture in place due to the musculature taking on some of the forces which are affecting your spine. my example is sharp pains in lower back with a compressed nerve which shoots into the legs, causing spasms and pains. the only thing that has helped is gym. at first it was hard, but now its the only thing that gives me full range of motion (i couldn't get in and out of the FRS at first).

I have tried different seating positions and adjustments but its hard when the pain seems to always be there ever since I purchased the car therefore im unaware what could feel good.

If anyone has had a problem is there any other seats I could straight swap and place in the toyota 86 as I love the car and wouldn't want to sell it because of that. I have had no previous back pain problems as I am only 23 years old and pretty active and healthy !
I was having the same issues as you were (just got my car 2 weeks ago) for the first few days. In addition to adjusting the seating position as everyone has mentioned I started stretching my lower back/hamstrings more. After a few days of that, the pain was gone.

My advice, just be patient and keep adjusting.

Best of luck!

in my case my upper back hurts because of minor scoliosis and the disc is slowly getting compressed and doc said only surgery will fix it or i get back injections to alleviate the pain..back problems suck!

inversion table. as much as possible. also, depending on the location of the disk, try handing from a chinup bar. again, AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. this will really slow the compression.
scoliosis, u can use workouts to strengthen the weaker muscles (its almost always due to differential muscle strength) or you can use a special corsette to help you with it. this is specialty stuff, so i suggest you do your research.

your doc might be a smart guy, but just from hearing what you have to say, surgery is DEF not the only option.

Hey bro, you should try getting a lower hip cushion? I have a Junction Produce Hip cushion and my lower back pain went away. Driving is so much more comfortable now even with our race inspired seats.
