Isn't it normal? Even my 10 year old 4-speed AT Corolla changes shift points a lot depending on how far and how fast is the gas pedal pressed. Just by modulating the throttle I can have it upshift at 2.5-3k, or at 6k, or I can choose whether or not I want a downshift when accelerating.

It's not about easier. It's easier to sit on the couch than it is to go rock climbing. It's easier to buy a loaf of Wonder Bread than it is to make your own 12-grain bread. It's easier to buy a 12-pack of Coors light than it is to brew up a killin' batch of IPA w/ your own home-grown hops. It's easier to watch a movie about sailing across the Atlantic than it is to sail across the Atlantic. Easier isn't necessarily better. It's not necessarily worse, either, granted, but it's definitely not necessarily better.

There is no right or wrong choice......choose whatever gives you the most enjoyment out of your car and disregard the rhetoric.

Seriously folks, not pejorative, and intended only as a friendly rejoinder to those who kick sand in the faces of AT crowd, worded to provoke a chuckle.

Again to OP, thanks for the read.

Honestly this is an incredibly safe car, I don't think people realize that.

Oh yeah, the car also had aftermarket exhaust on it which sounded amazing, but honestly I kind of missed the stock exhaust a bit.

Nice story. As you said this car is incredibly safe. I also like the white colour!

Why you missed the stock exhaust? Too much noise?

When cold there's not much to it, but once warmed up I find the stock exhaust actually not all that bad. It has a nice deep burble. Might actually be pretty good once coupled with a set of headers. Certainly the direction I'm thinking of taking down the line myself.

Similar thing happen with me except I had a Celica. Automatic, someone rear ended me and smashed up the rear and front of my car. My insurance took into account all the work I had done to it so I got more than I would've selling myself, and I had wanted a manual a month after I bought the car. I bought the manual, and as a GTS instead of GT and that thing shifted horribly compared to the twins. Was convinced I would buy automatic when I finally had enough for an frs or brz, but I drove manual and it was night and day. This car doesn't fight me and shake everyone violently. Granted I could shift without everyone in the car swaying in the GTS, but I had to really put a lot of effort into it, which was definitely not enjoyable. This car drives like a dream and for the first time I don't see other cars on the road and want them or even care about them.
