Mr.Slays Journey To The Top

Sup Community!!!

So I bought my FRS last week or so and have had quite a blast. Car is basically stock right now, but things are going to change drastically fairly quickly. Most of my friends thought I was nuts, but I choose the FRS over the GTR I was going to get and really haven't regretted it.

Though this thread is going to start kinds slow since my engine builder is on vacation for another week, once he gets back things will get interesting.

Passing the time

So yesterday my best friend called and suggested we see what a stock power FRS does in the Florida heat. Unable to resist, I removed the trunk items and rear seats to lighten things up a little. I also removed the muffler and installed a turn-down so that the super high quality Subaru plastic bumper didnt catch fire.

Track conditions were moderate, but you dont really need much to get this little car going. Track temperatures were in the mid to high 80*s, and humidity was moderate ( Density Altitude 2068 feet). The goal was to test different launch techniques and RPMs to figure out how the car likes to take off. Unfortunately, I was only able to get three passes in. The quickest pass, a 15.285 @ 92.43, utilized a launch at 4600-4700RPM while slipping the clutch. The car spun a little, but nothing more than 2 hundredths on the 60'

The Car

Turn-down looks like this

Im left lane. Right lane was a 4 Door civic that put down 220whp
( I dont tree unless im racing for money... Just my racing background lol)

Wheels were ordered about a month ago, and just picked up a Tactrix 2.0 cable to start tuning with. Here are some of the turbo goodies that will be going on the FRS after the development of my NA parts and tune...

Tial BOV

Wastegate...Will probably switch to a Tial unit

HBC Manual boost controller (Prefer Manual to electronic)

Turbowerx ... Depending on turbo location.

Went to the track to check out how e85 and my tuning was doing. Was able to run really well although wheel spin was an issue. Only needed 3 runs to dial things in a bit and so I called it a night after the third realizing that I wouldn't be able to reduce spin any more than I currently had.

Density Altitude of 1796

Sidenote: The second motor build is coming along nicely! Here is a video of a 50-150ish run with the motor making mid 600s at the wheels.
