Sigh, only in America would someone who is on a pre-order list who has nothing to do but wait for their awesome car to arrive feel entitled to something like this.

Seriously?! The process isn't perfect, but you will end up getting your car. Do you think people complaining and threatening with lawsuits is going to make Subaru *want* to build more cars like this? If their fanatics who love the car are doing this, what will the owner who finds a rattle in their car do!?! Sheesh.

I honestly don't get why people even bother pre-ordering cars now a days, I know in the past you may have wanted to just because there were so many different options to choose from, but most companies now there's very little in the way of options, FR-S is color and transmission, BRZ is color, transmission and premium or limited, so it's not like it's that hard to get what you want at the dealer, even with a limited production car like the BRZ. I walked into a dealer on the 9th, checked out the car, told them exactly what I wanted and 5 days later I drove my BRZ off the lot.

It's sad to see that anyone would even suggest such a thing for something so meaningless in the big scheme of life.

It's thinking like this that makes we wonder when these "victims" will ever get a clue.

A very sad topic for a forum for a group of car enthusiasts!

Thats the first question I asked SOA. Why there is a preorder system when subaru doesnt build cars according to the preorder system and it was quite simple answer they gave me

.......To know how many people would be interested to buy one.

Marketing ploy thats biting everyone now. I bet even Subaru might be feeling sorry for this. If I was subaru I would be terribly unhappy at this stage as I am losing customers every day because of this delay (lot of cars to choose from at this price) and there is no way I can ramp my production to meet my demand.

The guys who did the initial survey came up with the wrong numbers and requested the wrong production line resources.

A bit easier to do in the NE. Very difficult to that in the Atlanta area where there's only 35 or so BRZs allocated for a popultion of over 5 million.
