Hey guys I completed my experiment.

I had 2 FR-S's come to me. One with me prepping it and one prepped by the dealer. As theorized the dealer did not do such a good job of prepping it. There was swirls, marring and holograming to the max with the dealer prepped vehicle.

Both vehicles were picked up Tuesday and came from the same dealer. Now this is no way a 100% scientific experiment but it does show some truths. The quality of paint protection varies from dealer to dealer but the only real question is....Do you want to take the risk

Here is the one I did, 90% of the car was already in good condition

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8021

Here is the dealer prepped vehicle. I spent 4 extra hours on this vehicle even if I did know the right polishing combo's

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8461

Take from it what you will but this is my .02

Picked mine up this afternoon... just as the rain started, so no pics available at the moment.
Car is everything I have read about and hoped it to be... Michelin tires stick like it's on rails.

Dealer corrected minor issue before I left, zip-tied the front plate on until I install the motorized flip mount.

Hot oil smell went away for the most part after 50 k. Sound system (stock) entirely satisfactory both in volume and sonic quality.
Scion has a winner here.

Agreed. I ordered a month ago and still waiting. You're not alone.

If BRZ can deliver online then why not FR-S? =)

Good times.

Sucks that everyone is teasing you with their cars.

Would love to grab a Hot Lava 6spd but I would have to get rid of my IS300 or IS250. 2 Cars that Im not fond of parting with soon.

Hopefully you get it before the season is up.

ps. Ron Burgundy FTW
