Swapping for clear side markers

Getting the driver side was easy for me... The passenger side done second, gave me problems.

I got tired n put more into it... Broke the one metal tab on amber light, lol. Oh well.

Also had clean break on the plastic wire protector on same side, lol. Wires were not damaged and lights work. Had no problem getting clear lights on.

Need help everyone!

So I've put on the JDM clear side markers on my FR-S, but it seems loose as a simple tug without any tools allows the side markers free out of position...

The lenses won't seem to stay FIRM on the bumper. The top left corner always moves out of place if I add even the slightest pressure on the lense or try to align it so that the fabric strip is not exposed.

Is this normal??? I'm assuming something is wrong but scared to break anything.

I just put the clear JDM side markers in my BRZ. I noticed it similar with my passenger side clear marker. It didn't snap in tight like the other side. It's "in" but can pop out with a minimal amount of pressure. I pressed with some force, but still no snap in and didn't want to press too hard and break it. hm.

Check the "A" prong.
It's shaped a little like an upside down J. Where bottom of J enters the marker's plastic and the top of J is free.

The top of J needs to extend out a little ways so it can catch on the metal of the bracket.

In my case, I used a screwdriver and _gently_ opened it up a little bit at a time. Around 1mm the side marker made a tiny click as I pressed in... the "A" prong was able to hook out on the bracket.

If open too far, it will mount but be wiggly loose - but I don't think it would fall off. Just open the gap a little then try and repeat until catches.

I kind of pictured Sly Stallone hanging by fingertips on a mountain.

The free end of the J is like that fingertip.
