Yep. This is true in just about any type of tech. Next year's will always be better. At some point, you just have to fish or cut bait!

Cars will only ever get better. That's the nature of the beast. If only I would have waited 4 years I could have bought the STi that I really wanted. If I had continued to wait for the new Supra, I would be waiting for over 10 years.

This is what it is like when you are the first one on the block to have the new toy. Will they do this, that, or the other thing to make the car better? Yep.

Fixed that for you.

That's a perfect example of how a company can move backwards with a popular car; I believe it's a few hundred lbs. heavier to go with that smiley face too =P

Although I don't think Toyota would make a mistake like that honestly.

My take on this thread is that I bought my FR-S with every intention to wait for the last model year when they decide to discontinue, then trade-up to that model; also this plan would save alot of money on aftermarket modifications; as trying to keep in SCCA stock class & thoughts about already accepting I will be trading up in the future, will both keep me from modding excessively =D

I bought a 2010 tC, and was not unhappy at all when I saw the redesigned tC. The first time I saw it I'm pretty sure I had the Do Not Want dog's look on my face. IMHO, the new tC lacks the sleek lines of the original.

It's not so much because it's the first car I have purchased new - but also because it is this car's first model-year as well. That's a bit of a combo to chew on for me.

I've stuck to tried and true platforms in the past. The Soarer was no exception.

However my commitment to purchase isn't gone. I'll still be receiving and driving home my 2013 in a few weeks.

I'd be thrilled if they just got rid of the hideous taillights! Haven't seen a post yet where anyone likes them....

My current frs is putting smiles on my face since the day I picked it up. I have a feeling a few years later and various things that pop up, ill still drive it with a smile on my face.

I guess I'm the only one that likes the tail lights, then. There, I said it.

I like the tail lights too. If I didn't like anything about this car I wouldn't have bought it. I'm happy with my first edition, even if they do make improvements for the next ones to come doesn't bother me a bit. :happy0180:

I feel salty, but I would've still bought 2013 model even if I knew about 2014 update.
