I just turned 36, I bought my car at 35. When I first brought it home and took my wife for a ride, she looked at me and said, "What the hell did you buy? Isn't this a car for like 20-yr olds?"

Now after thousands of dollars in upgrades/mods - wheels, suspension, turbo - she loves riding in it, it makes her "feel fancy".

Even at almost 40 yrs old, I'll take my $40k FRS over any other $40k car I've ever seen - I'm absolutely in love with it. I truly can't think of another car I'd rather have. Even if it looks like a toy

Why are most people starting so late? I had my first kid at 27. I have gray-haired fellow parents in my younger son's class!

He plays piano. We can't transport that damn thing anywhere.

Many reasons and there are good points and bad points for both age groups.
I was 21 so lost part of my youth but made up for it by having them gone and getting my me time back sooner. Others would rather have that time when they are young and have to wait longer. Some won't want any at all and have a full life of me time. None of these are right or wrong really.

So just as the title says....How old are we?
Well Mich, you feeling young yet? Told you that the ages here are surprising.

Ah but research shows that sperm quality drops with age. I don't think people are making conscious decisions, at least not all the time. They're just getting married later. Also, many women are under the impression that, thanks to modern medicine, they can have kids late in life. Much of the time, that's not the case.

All very true. My statement was at the most basic of levels and not intended to even scratch the surface of the technicalities of the subject but simply to point out that there are variations in what happens and that is OK.

My only conscious decision resulting in our first child was to have that one more beer! Planning was in no way a factor but I am very happy with the way things worked out since I really like my me time now.
