Having played fallout 1 and 2 when new, vats is natural to the game. It makes shooting much easier.

I tried but couldn't play 1/2. Never been a fan of "god mode" games since side scrollers went out of fashion.

Played them when they were new. It was a major Wasteland nostalgia-fest. Loved them both. They don't hold up well, though. Wasteland does holdup, of course. I can still drop a few hours in, happily.

Thinking of getting a new laptop... looking at the new Razer or maybe an Aurous. Only thing I don't really like about my current one is how big/heavy it is but the cooling and battery are pretty good.

Anyone want to buy a 2015 Alienware with 965m? 😀

That is precisely why I haven't gotten rid of my m11x r2 it is the perfect size for lugging around for work and the battery still holds up nicely after six years. The gaming performance is definitely lagging now but it is still a really good laptop. Occasionally my wife will ask me if I want to get a new one but I'm always hard pressed to get rid of it.

Overwatch is fun. Too bad my computer can barely run the lower settings at a higher fps 40-50. CS GO and TF2 run around 100 for comparison at medium settings.

If you're looking into gaming laptops look into clevo/sager laptops. They'll be less blingy than the alienware but for less you'll be able to run circles around anything Dell makes (Alienware is owned by Dell for those than don't know). Plus clevo/sager don't solder their parts in place so should you wish to upgrade in a year you won,t need to sell your whole setup and will be abnle to update gpu only

Second on this.

Clevis/Sager are easily the most customizable laptops in terms of Processors and GPUs. Clevis and Savers are essentially a shell which allows you to spec it out as you please and can cost much less than silly alienware garbage.

I get that everyone hates Alienware, but I don't see any for nearly the price I paid for mine with much better specs.

Edit: Looking again, there's one that's basically what I paid with basically the same specs.

I've just spec'd 2 of them and the sager is actually still 100$ cheaper (than alienware with all their "deals") and actually has better gear than AW where possible (wireless card, screen, ssd model, memory). Plus like I said you're not paying for the Alienware Gimmick when buying a clevo/sager. And you can actually updgrade parts if you want. Want a new ssd or cpu or gpu? on the sager just buy and install, on the alienware either send for repair(and cost associated) or buy a new one...

If you need to upgrade from the base packages, sager upgrades cost much less than Dell's
e.g upgrade 970m to 980m 450 for alienware and 275 for sager.

Just food for thought, you can make your own decision but I would definitely recommend looking into sager/clevo products, hell even asus gaming laptops could be a good alternative

The cheapest sager you can get with a 980M (8GB of VDDR5) is 1.6k. (Link - http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np8658-...rg-p-8654.html)

The cheapest Alienware I found with a 980m was right around 2k. Now this model came with 32GB of RAM whereas the sager came with 16GB. And the Allienware also comes with Windows 10 whereas the Sager comes with no OS.

Alienware tends to be overpriced and much less modular than sager. I'm not saying they're terrible computers, it's just there are other options for a slightly better price.
