Yup, misplaced priorities. We want to build up security and spend hundreds of billions on that, and ignore [more] immediate threats like a virus.

Man made deaths? Spend as much as you can.

Deaths from viruses? We'll let the pharmaceutical companies handle it.

At the end of the day, the article is more about misguided priorities in the US government and with public policy, than about the bug itself.

This is news. There has been a discovery made of something that didn't knowingly exist in the U.S. before. It has the potential to be nasty.
The article is not overly sensationalistic imo. It is reasonably factual.

You'll be amazed just how much crap is now considered "news" here. It's becoming a problem here where "news" reporters are just college age kids that read fb news posts as real new stories.

As far as credibility that site is, as a rule I don't take it seriously if they have **** growing pills as their ads. Which they do. So there you go.
