Change your plates to "LTSNTON" - fixed!

The Edens spur is the 2nd worst place I've driven for my setup (though city pot-hole filled roads are a pain of a different sort) - the spacing on the concrete pour was JUST right to get the car into a very disconcerting wobble. The worst was a small section of road near Mackinaw City heading toward the dark sky park. I don't really remember it beyond horrible... otherwise, my wife knits reasonably comfortably on road trips. Higher rates aren't necessarily unbearable for the commute. That said, I won't complain about you being slower.

Rough guess is you might still be a second+ behind the class leaders in Milwaukee, but that's not a bad place to be. Gotta keep improving! Hopefully I can catch up, what with being able to get to more events and all... competition makes everyone better! Last year in Chicago was disappointing, as ironic as it is for me to say that.

I'm sure I could deal with a stiffer suspension, but I drive a LOT (20k miles/year) including some pretty long road trips. I don't really think it's worth the stiffer ride for the 0.05% of the time that that car will be on an autocross course :P

Yeah, I'm really curious to see how Milwaukee is. I mean it's fun to take 1st place, but I miss the fun competition I was having last year with Dylan and Chris where we were fighting for tenths between each other and you never knew who would come out ahead. That was way more exciting.

Feal 441

On the topic of suspension, is there still anyone successfully running Feal 441 coilovers with 7/6k springs at national events? There used to be a few trophy winners running these 2-3 yrs back.

If you're looking for a plush ride, you bought the wrong car. I have the RCE Tarmac 2's and they're reasonably comfortable when set towards soft. Even on RCE's recommended settings they're not bad. Hitting big bumps still sucks, but they sucked on the stock suspension too.

As far as i am aware no. With that said they are still an inexpensive option to get the job done.

Meh. Just because I bought a sports coupe doesn't mean I want a super-crazy stiff suspension. The V3s are already stiffer than stock, but they do a great job of ironing out harsher bumps. I'm very happy with the ride quality and I have no desire to make the car any stiffer, both for my sake, and for the sake of those that might ride along with me. It was the V3s and the Tarmac 2s that I was debating between, but in the end I chose the V3s for the softer spring rates.

There used to be a lot more people running Feal 441 and Feal sponsored STX cars as well. Wonder how 7/7 k setup would do compared to 7/6k with their standard valving.

Here's a video of an autocross on 12k/10k springs and KW competition coil overs (they have stiffer dampers, less dust protection than the clubsports and have an aluminum instead of a stainless-steel housing but cost about the same). I wouldn't call it particularly pushy (as one might think):

(Unfortunately the mic of the GoPro broke).

Yes that was my friend Lance and I that ran the Feal 441's.

Lance sold he car. I upgraded to KW V3's.

We both finished in the Trophies at nationals when we ran them.

For those of you with RE-71R's, what kind of rear camber are you running? I just ran my first event with them last weekend and got some noticeable outer wear on my rear tires. Fronts look to be wearing pretty evenly though. Right now my alignment is -3 front, 0 toe and -2 rear, 1/16 toe in. I'm probably going to increase my tire pressure, but thought some more rear camber might be in order.

I'm still at -2.6/-2.0 camber front/rear. Rear tire wear is definitely biased a bit towards the outside on track, but no issues at autocross. I do get a bit higher outer shoulder temps, but not more than ~5 degrees F.

What hot pressure are you running?

Looks pretty loose - is that a personal preference, or a consequence of damp/drying conditions?

I'm at -3.3/-2.8, need to take a bit out of the back. Not quite sure how much yet, thinking .3-.4 ...
