I ordered the whiteout, apparently that is the most ordered one so there is a very long back log.

I think that is just retarded that the wait times are so long.. even if it is going to be long the dealers really need to get their shit together and give more accurate ETA's.

Anyone else been told above by the dealer?
I've been waiting seven(7) YEARS for Toyota to release a sports car again. I'm still waiting.

Seriously though, this isn't a movie, game, or book you've pre-ordered off of amazon.com or ordered from ebay. This is a car. They are not made as quickly, in some cases they only start building it after it's ordered. They certainly did not make millions of copies before "launch day". Given it's popularity, that only makes the wait even longer especially when you chose the most common colour, as you stated.

Ordered in early may, ETA is Q1,2013. That's as accurate as they can go at this point. I would LOVE to have only a few months to wait....

No offense , but it sounds like most of you guys that ordered dont really want the car , you mostly did it just so that you could say you ordered one . If I had ordered in December an I still didn't have mine that dealership would be going to hell and back everyday with me. I work in aviation, and heck we could deliver an airplane faster and more efficiently on ETA

I work at a Toyota/Scion dealer ordered mine and it wont be here until july/aug.

The problem is unless your dealer has a great relationship with the rep you might have to deal with whats allocated. The second problem is atleast in my area the dealers refuse to swap. I am not happy about the wait myself and won't lie depending when the car comes in I might hold off till after the winter if I wont get to enjoy the car during the summer

This said we do have a Raven AT that will be here in a few weeks not spoken for feel free to msg me. Im in Rhode Island

White is going to be the hardest color to get on short notice like that because it seems to be the most popular.

I ordered a BRZ in January and am picking it up today. There are only so many cars being built and dealers can't magic one up for you if lots of people have pre-ordered unless a pre-order backs out. I'm surprised the wait isn't longer.

As everyone else said, shop around, and don't forget small town dealers. Even ordering in Jan I was told I would have been 16th on Subaru Calgary's pre-order list (meaning an ETA of probably November) but I called around and became #1 at Red Deer. Hence why I will get what is perhaps the first blue BRZ in Alberta while there are people who ordered in Dec at Subaru Calgary that are still waiting. The deposits are always refundable (at Red Deer, I didn't even have to pay a deposit).

If you expect to get a car so soon after seeing the demand for this, then you need to maybe look at another car for instant gratification over waiting. This car is in heavy global demand and is being built from ONE factory in Japan. For this reason, I am planning for mine now even though I don't plan on getting mine until march-june of NEXT YEAR!

If you think about it, its the people who have shown the most patience (2+yrs) that are (and should be) receiving them at the moment, because they planned ahead and ordered when most dealers didn't even know what a BRZ and FR-S was. All I can say is be patient, get your mind off of it and it will come faster. Enjoy Summer!

The problem you're going to have is that you're after a Whiteout MT. So are the majority of purchasers. The cars don't come in on a "What the dealer ordered" basis, they are typically an allotment that Scion decides for the dealer. So they get what they can, and try to sell them.

I talked to 8 dealerships in my area starting in February. I finally put a deposit down at one in April, and was on the list at others. I put a second deposit down at another dealership in May, and picked up my car 2 weeks ago. I ended up pulling the deposit from the initial dealer due to mark-ups, and I've since been contacted by 3 of the dealers asking if I was interested in a car on their lot. One of the calls was when I was driving my FRS too, talk about ironic.

My advice is that if you're dead set on a Whiteout. Call and talk to everyone. Get your name on as many lists as you can. Be aggressive, show you're serious. If you're gonna finance go as far as to show them you're not gonna flake out, and that you'll be eligible for financing. I walked into every dealership with my checkbook in hand, and let them know how serious I was about buying this car.

I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma. There are two FR-S's sitting on the car lot for sale right now. I test drove both of them. They even have a $500 discount on them. Blue manual and Hot Lava auto.

The problem is not necessarily the wait - it is the inconsistancy of the allocations. While some (including myself) placed preorders months ago and are still waiting, others have walked into the dealers and got one waiting on the showroom. I am not complaining nor whining, it just seems odd to me that Scion could care less about those who have preordered. It appears thus far the allocations were not based on preorders but past performance of other Scion model sales. In this economy, I would think Scion would rather "seal the deal" with preorders, then move on to distribution to other dealers.
