just be mindful that dealer delivery is not more than $1795 , this is the standard for Victoria. Some dealers are charging in excess of this but this is the one of those things which can be negotiated and you have to remind them of that.

Dealer delivery is negotiable with the dealer, $2268 is excessive and not right.

You should go back and tell them to stick it up their backside. Kinda sick of dealers quoting such high dd just cuz the car is in high demand.

I was told GT manual is $35k....I'm not going to buy the car any time soon. But yeah, they need to honour the website price according to ACCC, if not, tell them you'll discuss it with TMCA; FT86God said this. Then if they don't fix it tell them you'll talk to fair trading. Have you already pre-ordered your car?

Which city are you from? I'll be using this as part of any excessive price "argument" I may have in the future.

Melbourne.

When I was in the process of placing an order I was able to negotiate the price a tad under $39K for a white gts manual with mats, tint and a tank of fuel.

Good stuff! Sorry to be asking trivial questions but which dealership was this? I didn't get into negotiating prices with my nearest dealership but a salesman kept saying that there are no discounts for the car at all and he was quoting another guy 45k for a GTS auto....like wtf? I may need to go elsewhere.

I didn't get there till around 4pm. Once I told them I had already put a deposit down they let me drive the car.
They aren't letting everyone drive the car because some people are simply joyriders, well that's what I gathered anyway.

In that case then, I was incredibly lucky! I had no plan of depositing, let alone buying the car from them, yet I didn't even have to ask for a test drive and they pretty much insisted I go for a drive.

Got all my prices sorted out. Came down to a system error. Being an IT project manager, this is something I can actually believe (and have seen first hand) happening, so I have no hard feelings, and I'm happy it's all sorted out.
