Do these wheel's require 45 degree lug nuts?
So I just put on some Enkei RP03's using your standard 60 degree extended lug nuts and it doesn't seem to hold the torque for more then a day. I used a properly calibrated torque bar. I have to re-tighten them about 1/2 a turn every day. The threads are not stripped since as soon as I do the 1/2 turn, they are impossible to turn any farther. Only 1 or 2 lug nuts seem to coming loose per wheel. So do these Enkei require 45 degree lug nuts or 60 is fine?

This is my 3rd set of wheel and nothing like this has happened before. Enkei advertises these wheel's as "Racing". I just checked out the Wikipedia page on lug nuts and here is what it said - "The lug's taper is normally 60 degrees (although 45 is common for wheels designed for racing applications)." So could Enkei have designed there "Racing" series wheel's to accommodate only 45 degree nuts? |

Are these brand new wheels? I had to re-tighten my NT03+M's a couple of times when I first got them, but they've been fine ever since.

I also noticed the hole where the lug nut goes on the wheel is WAY deeper then any wheel I have ever used. It almost looks like the wheel is sucking up the lug nut when you fully torque them down. These are extended lug nuts too. |

just read your last post, do these wheels take the "tuner" style lugs? the really small skinny ones?

those look like the regular 19mm ones. But then I just realized if the wheels really did use the smaller diameter ones, these lugs won't even thread on to begin with anyway so nevermind lol

If they would require anything other than the standard type of aftermarket lug nut, it would be mentioned on either Enkeis own product page, or somewhere on the many retailers' websites, otherwise 95% of the people buying them would have the same issue. I'm sure you're supposed to use the 60-degree type nuts you are using.

Could be that the nuts are bottoming out. Try open end lug nuts

After re-torquing the wheel's for the fourth time, it seems to have stayed put for now. Guess the new nuts were just settling in with the wheel's? Not sure but I am happy the problem has resolved it self.
