Ah I was only there on Sunday so I must have missed him. The GT4 is pretty much my dream track car (or a 997 GT3 RS).

Did you see the copper C7 Z06 on Sunday? Looked great, I'd be intimidated seeing one of those hauling ass in my rear view mirror haha.

Yeah, I saw that. So many neat aero details, haha. I think it was in yellow group and had a minor off somewhere, it was all muddy at one point.

Big thanks to @ for this one. His GoPro got audio from my quickest session before the brakes went to shit and I started carrying passengers.

Boo I have a similar setup and was hoping to keep using the stock calipers for awhile.

Based on pics I posted in another thread CSG Mike said I was overheating the XP12s. I was getting some pad fade and the surface of the pads was shiny and smeared. I'm pretty hard on the brakes... Not last of the late brakers, but I'm not timid on the brakes.

Real racers don't use brakes.

Another day, another win First in class and second overall. A couple of tenths out of first overall, grrr. Here's my fastest run, just ignore the scream at the end as I thought I hit some cones, lol
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GaIVYSFDQk4[/ame]

Cone marks on the tire from the last run. No cone penalties called in though

Just another BRZ

My dad's Fiesta and my BRZ

Oh, and my dad got second in his class with my brother right behind him

Here's a screenshot of the results:

On another note, really unimpressed by the Carbotech 1521 pads. They have a nice initial bite and that's literally it. They have a nice firm feel for normal braking, but as I press harder they just compress like crazy and feel like mush. They also get noisy after getting them hot. Pretty sure stock pads were better in pretty much every way.

Track prepping today, hitting up Putnam Park next weekend

Kinda funny, I took my dad for a ride yesterday at autocross and he commented on how crazy my brakes feel compared to his. Even with the silly 1521 pads...

I put on the XP12s one end at a time so I could test drive between. I swapped the fronts and holy whoa the car stops quickly with a fantastic pedal. Easy ABS activation exactly like it should be with cold street tires, and the pedal is nice and high.

I then swapped the rear pads (making sure to swap inners and outers to get better pad life) and the brakes feel like crap and while I can still get ABS easily the pedal is lower and the initial travel feels mushy. Apparently the rear pads had enough taper wear that only one half of the pad is touching and it's cocking the calipers. Lovely. At least it's a ~700 mile drive to Putnam from here and I've got an autocross on Wednesday, so they should wear in and be OK, feel wise.

Some karting videos First one is Heat A practice, second one is Heat A qualifying, third one is the A Main (with a bunch of yellow flags and me driving away with the win from the front, pretty boring video)

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOrsO9TtxTQ[/ame]

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNggv1ZGmuQ[/ame]

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEJcBXyxJfU[/ame]

and my fastest lap from the track:
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjVtfuaJ_3Q[/ame]

I'm now getting some horrendous brake squeal, guessing from the lip on the inside pad... No fade and they performed well. Nowhere near as hard on brakes as Shenandoah though, so I'm looking forward to some further testing this year. Definitely need to do pedal dance more often, EBFD was really aggressive when I was throwing the car into corners. I have a clip to post of some serious brake smoke pouring off of my car when my buddy drove my car. We swapped cars for a session and I put his car in the grass and stalled it ('03 Howe chassis stock car, a total friggin blast to drive) and they black flagged the session with almost no cooldown.

My oil temps settled out around 235-240* F in the last session, ~90 degree ambient. Not too bad, all things considered.

Here's a video of my second session:
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uahu7YhiYVM[/ame]

I'll post up more videos later
