Some pics from yesterday's install!

ARP Extended Studs front and rear
Whiteline anti-dive/caster inner front-lower control arm bushings
Whiteline inner-rear front-lower control arm bushings
Whiteline roll-center/bump-steer correction kit
Whiteline steering rack bushings

The extended roll-center correction ball joints on the control arms ended up pushing the Velox backing plates into the rotors when turning and causing nasty grinding after the alignment, so we had to cut the bottom of the backing plates to allow clearance. They did not rub with the stock ball joints after I bent the bottom of the backing plates back just enough to clear when turning. I believe this will only be an issue with a both a BBK and extended ball joints for roll center correction. The backing plates and cooling kit will still seal to the rotors and function just fine.

Unfortunately one of my SPC gen 1 rear lower control arms were missing one of the tabs which holds the eccentric adjuster in place and the car was not able to be aligned evenly on both sides. One side was -2.5 camber and the other maxed out at -1.6 presumably due to the missing/sheared tab on the side. After much deliberation last night and this morning I am not going to risk running the car at Road Atlanta this weekend with the SPC rear LCAs and I am going to swap the stock rear LCAs back on tonight and simply run whatever natural camber I get from them for now until I can get new aftermarket rear LCAs.

The SPC's were the only affordable option three years ago when people first began lowering these cars so I consider them a $200 mistake and lesson learned. I could almost consider them a consumable item with the abuse I've put them through, but there's definitely a reason why SPC redesigned them last year...

Swapped the stock rear lower control arms back on.

Detailed photo of the broken tab that only had two spot welds holding it on. I will be trying to contact SPC to see if they will send me a new pair of their revised Gen 2 LCAs. I will probably sell them locally.

It needs an alignment... again. Toe is off and car feels really darty.

All better. Track ready.

Stock rear lower control arms FOR THE WIN. I don't even need adjustable arms.

Funny, I have a set of spc Gen 2 arms that I've been hesitant to put on since I have my target camber with strock arms. It would be nice to play though.

Your car looks really nice!

You should be able to loosen the rear subframe and shift it from left/right a little to even out the rear camber if you want.

That does nothing. Both control arms are attached to the same subframe. All that you can do is shift the upper or lower arms around a little to try to even out the camber with the stock arms.

I will be interested to see what you think of the whiteline bushes at the front.

Agree that it wouldnt do anything, especially since my subframe is locked down with Whiteline insert bushings.

What brake pads are you using? Or in better words, what brake pads to you recommend for high brake use tracks? I've out grown/over heated my hawk hp+ pads at Watkins. I have stock calipers (for now), run 200 tread wear tires and am naturally aspirated.

In running Cobalt XR2s front and rear. They're amazing so far. Zero bedding required and the dust isn't too bad. Highly recommend them along with the Velox Motorsports brake cooling kit. My braking endurance has never been this good.

Took some photos after early registration at Road Atlanta on Friday.

Car ran perfect all weekend. Grip for days from the Maxxis VR-1s. Very noticeable increase in downforce with the upgraded Velox front splitter, tunnel covers, rear diffuser with suspension covers and new SARD style carbon fiber rear wing. I was originally skeptical of the SARD wing's functionality but I can now say after tracking with it over 120+ the wing is a big improvement in rear end stability into turn 10 at Road Atlanta. No more wiggles. I just need to have a pair of offset mounting brackets fabricated so that the wing element is flush with the TRD spoiler. It looks a little goofy from the sides right now as it's 6 cm too far forward but I'll have that corrected soon with a pair of offset mounting brackets. The carbon wing element is legit. Proper low drag airfoil shape and it's high quality fit and finish while weighing in at just over 5 lbs.

Very pleased with all the new additions- notably the Velox brake cooling kit. Car has endless braking endurance now. It's pretty amazing how much the extra cooling has affected my confidence with the car in 30+ minute track sessions. The rotors and pads are wearing significantly better and I never once boiled my year-old Millers racing brake fluid which I previously boiled last year at Road Atlanta resulting in a spongy brake pedal into turn 10. Last year I also glazed Carbotech XP12's pretty badly. Not the case this time with the Cobalt XR2's. They are magic. No bedding required and excellent bite and wear characteristics. They are much nicer to my rotors than CL RC6 pads.

It took some time to knock the dust off the car and the driver after a year-long hiatus from track days but I was able to get the car running consistent 1:50 lap times and cracked out a 1:49.4 as my best lap of the weekend. The car can do 1:46's as-is and I will get there eventually. I'm not used to having this much grip! I wasn't exceeding the limit of the VR-1s at all this weekend. They took all the heat from two partly sunny 90 degree days and asked for more. They're wearing great and the 255s aren't rubbing anywhere.

GoPro videos when I get time this week. On track photography should be up by tomorrow. It looks menacing on track with the wing.

The wing looks great and you have the same fitting issue I do; please post up the custom brackets you plan to make since I'll need a pair myself haha
