Well, you're not wrong. But your post makes it seem the oil cooler is thermostatically controlled, which would be counter productive to the faster warm up times.
Ugh I read your statement wrong. It is thermostatically controlled via cooling system rather than the sandwich plate. I need more coffee.

Hm... nice product. JR always made solid parts, so I'm pretty sure this will be another great product. I, myself live in higher climate and gets cold, so I was looking into water cooled oil cooler.

Hope to see more photos to make me jealous.

It does not use a thermostat, it uses the systems coolant to bring the oil up to temp, then maintains it. This is what makes it ideal for cars in a colder climate.

I don't think numbers are technically necessary to demonstrate the "added" benefits of a larger radiator, but it would be nice to compare to a, stock radiator and after market oil cooler setup vs. this setup, and then possibly a larger radiator with an aftermarket oil cooler.

You guys know very well that the stock radiator has been proven to be plenty capable on track and even with FI, so some data would be nice to see just how much better this new Jackson offering is.

Also, hasn't Oscar Jr. been running this in his racecar? I'd love to just see a practice or race session to see what the temperatures stabilize at. His should be the most extreme case as well anyways, so I don't need any new data.

Exactly what I'm looking for. Some external dimensions would also be great, mostly for those who have things mounted in front of the radiator ie intercoolers, etc.

FWIW, I've run both setups. Big radiator + Air-liquid external oil cooler and liquid-liquid radiator/oil cooler in one. I live in really warm/humid climate. The liquid to liquid (rad/oil cooler in one) has all the advantages.

Oil warmed up quicker
Temps. at the track were held better under 230
No need for thermostatic sandwich plate (reduce one more point of failure).

This should be the go to solution for anyone considering an oil cooler who is serious about going to the track or driving the car hard on the street.

Just what I have been waiting for. Held off on buying an oil cooler setup for the last few months and sure am glad now.

Well worth the money and would even pay more. People that think it is overpriced are out of their minds. The companies have to make a profit and I'll gladly contribute so they don't lose interest in this low production platform and continue to make great products like this!

This is what I have been waiting for!! Will be adding this a little later when temps go up.
Nice pictures but nothing from the back side, can we see what it looks like from the back. I am wondering about running the hoses around my other stuff.

Some people have requested data, which doesn't seem available yet. While this is from a different setup (an subaru oem oil cooler), it may help shed some light at least on how this type of setup can speed up oil warmup. I do not know how the surface area of the liquid to oil portion of the JR setup compares to the OEM style setup for comparison purposes. Anyway, hope this helps.

Sidenote: If JR would like to send me one of these fine pieces, I would be happy to test and provide similar data comparisons with this product as well.

I'd like to see some results similar to the ones SkiRideDrive took of the oem oil cooler. Please send him a setup so he can take some datalogs.
I'm sure this radiator/oil cooler will be able to keep the temps a lot more consistent since it has a bigger thermal mass.
