Many Acuras did do that, and if I'm not mistaken there was a TSB about it too.

Also, I believe the G35/37 and Z do this as well so you get all your horses moving you, less lost to comfort.
My Z never does this. Maybe the 370Z has it?

Maybe! I'm fairly sure the G-series do it though!

Hmm, I'll test it and see if my Acura does in fact do it.

Yep, this is standard function on every modern car that I've ever driven.

Really? My old 02 Spec V did. I figured all Nissans did.

For the RSX it was a problem issue, not a feature:

the RX8 does it for both power and to not damage the A/C compressor due to the high revving nature of the engine (9,000rpm redline).

So has Subaru actually designed this car to shut off the A/C compressor under hard acceleration to give us more horsepower and then kick back in when you ease up on it?

Thanks

Um, how do I edit the title? Mistype. LOL
you do realize that the A/C consumes alot of power... Fvck A/C, windows down crew FTW

Every car I have owned shut the AC compressor off at WOT.
This is normal.
If you're flooring it, you obviously need the power to accelerate and not to cool off.

A/C is still useful when it's raining and/or the windows are fogging.

And my Eclipse does not shut off the A/C as far as I know. I didn't realize newer cars did this. I don't recall it shutting off in the Evo either but I very rarely use it so IDK.

I don't notice this on any of the cars I own now or otherwise drive occasionally, especially here with texas summers.

one day I test drove a camaro and a challenger, definitely didn't notice either do this, i remember because i test drove a mustang the same day and when we floored it, it was noticeable that the A/C had shut off, we did not like this feature, tbh.
If i really want to go as quick as i can, I wouldn't have the A/C on to begin with.
