Sounds like that may tie in well with the Grand Canyon.

Thanks!
Thanks everyone for all the positive comments and great suggestions. Keep 'em comin'. I'll make lots of stops along the way to take pics & stretch, so I'll post some up. Feeling very fortunate to have the time & means to be making this trip, especially in such a fun car. This would be impossible in my S2K or MX-5-no room for bike/gear.

Well, got back a few weeks ago & have been swamped ever since. Haven't had time to go through all the pics, but here's on of the route. Racked up ~6200 miles on the 86 & enjoyed every mile.

Swing farther North before going west and see Yellowstone, Tetons, even Glacier if you can. Remember to take a different route home to catch everything you gave up to see the stuff you chose on the way up. Have fun and stay safe, sounds like an awesome trip.

https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=O...,3,4,6&t=m&z=8 There's about 4 nice paths near lewiston, and one by grand coulee dam. I am telling you, these are the only nice roads in WA. The routes are shown a bit messy, but you get the idea. Cloverland and grand coulee dam are best. |

Ah, I didn't see this thread either. I live in Reno, NV & Truckee, CA know some good roads. Also would have recommended a road outside of SLC that I took on my trip with my 86 that was awesome.
