Also, consider taking a little extra time to go through the western peninsula of Washington and enjoy the Olympic National Park region, then take a ferry from Port Angeles over to Victoria (a beautiful city) and enjoy some of the beautiful roads on Vancouver Island (the big island that Victoria is on).
That looks awesome. Will be seeking twisties on & off road

Your right. We'll be too close not to hit the World Famous Shore. Done!

Sounds like that may tie in well with the Grand Canyon.

That's a good idea-on my list.
and if you like big jumps and drops and are an experianced rider you must hit up dirt merchant, a line, and definatly ride the upper lift. Enjoy whistler, youll love it.
Cool. I usually hit ~ 90% of knarl. Some of the waterfalls & huge drops I've seen are insane...

Don't worry, I always make it to the top.

Thanks!

Thanks everyone for all the positive comments and great suggestions. Keep 'em comin'. I'll make lots of stops along the way to take pics & stretch, so I'll post some up. Feeling very fortunate to have the time & means to be making this trip, especially in such a fun car. This would be impossible in my S2K or MX-5-no room for bike/gear.

Well, got back a few weeks ago & have been swamped ever since. Haven't had time to go through all the pics, but here's on of the route. Racked up ~6200 miles on the 86 & enjoyed every mile.

Swing farther North before going west and see Yellowstone, Tetons, even Glacier if you can. Remember to take a different route home to catch everything you gave up to see the stuff you chose on the way up. Have fun and stay safe, sounds like an awesome trip.

Awwww didn't see the thread early enough. I know Washington very well and I would have suggested you to pass through eastern WA:

https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=O...,3,4,6&t=m&z=8

There's about 4 nice paths near lewiston, and one by grand coulee dam. I am telling you, these are the only nice roads in WA. The routes are shown a bit messy, but you get the idea. Cloverland and grand coulee dam are best.

Ah, I didn't see this thread either. I live in Reno, NV & Truckee, CA know some good roads. Also would have recommended a road outside of SLC that I took on my trip with my 86 that was awesome.
