So...

I wonder when the class action lawsuit is going to be filed by people who "had to" buy under Scion "no haggle" pricing....

Technically you're still not haggling.

This has nothing to do with scion dying off. I paid 22k for my "new" 2013 when the 2015's were about to launch.

Eh.. its the same effect with a different cause. That 2013 was about to be 2 MY behind, so the dealership discounted it to clear inventory. Now 2016 FRS are about to be replaced with Toyota 86s, so the dealership discounted it to clear inventory.

You think these 2016 models would be selling for so cheap if Scion wasnt dissolved?

You're right, they'd be priced low anyway.
But, closing up the sales floors and lots is definitely a driving factor in dealerships wanting to dump inventory and convert the space into useful Toyota space or downsize altogether. Claiming that has no impact would be foolish.

The salesmen struggled enough trying to comprehend this car when they had dedicated materials and advertising for it, I can't imagine how painful it would be to listen to the average salesman explaining what a "scion" is doing on his Toyota lot to the average car buyer come next year.

Oh, I understand that. But some people may think that "no haggle" pricing means everyone will pay the same price regardless. As others have stated, these car ads are mostly in snow/rain belt states which probably affects prices. When I bought my 2016 in October last year, even left over 2015s were at MSRP around here. I usually buy at the end of the model year (e.g., 2015s @ September/October 2015) to get a discount but due to my DD being totaled I bought my 2016 at the beginning of the MY. Since it was the same price as the remaining MY2015s, I didn't try too hard to find a leftover car.

Always amuses me too, I stopped going into the BRZ forum primarily because of the monthly "New BRZ $26k-$28k OTD, am I getting ripped off?"

lol buddy, there's hundreds, if not thousands that paid $32k+ for that exact same car. Some even shelled out >$40k for an FR-S.

Bay Area, LA, NY, all the dealers know that there's enough money flying around for them to add $1,600 clear bras (that don't even cover the whole hood) and other garbage options (ebay 'leather' seat covers, $600 nav headunit marked up to $3k) and hold firm because someone will buy it eventually. Net result? A few hundred California cars were 'imported' from Colorado, PNW, Arizona/Nevada, etc.

I was OK when my FR-S rang up $27.8k OTD, if the dealership had gotten me the car two weeks earlier I would have saved another $500. Took me 4 months to find someone willing to sell me the damn car at MSRP, pure price my ass.

Must have been hording them

The MT vs AT sales can be very regional as well as the prices. The ATs seem to sell way better the further north you go. My dealer said they sold 4 AT to every MT and since they only sold 12 total that really means something.

LOL! Can't get one in my city no matter how much you will pay. The Scion/Toyota dealer has a iM and two tCs in stock and that is it. They said they are only even ordering a couple of 17s.

That brz buddy got lucky if he got his car OTD 26-28k,,its between lucky and average price for a base model here. Before i got my 10 series, i was quoting tons of the dealership and the cheapest 1 was a 2015 FRS base model, 28.5k OTD -.-. Also, scion does not negotiate price too.
