If you owned a manual don't worry about it, you chose an auto this time, however if you have never owned or driven one, perhaps, save your hostility towards us till you do. You may like it or you may just hate it. I know at the end of the day, I'd much prefer this car with a manual being its only 200hp

Guy said hes slow at lights, and I don't have that problem, as I'm sure many manual drivers don't. Manuals usually aren't slow off the line unless you want them to be. He may be starting in second, i dunno

But my cure for the manual auto traffic disease, we have two cars. When I've had enough manual in traffic, I switch with the wife and drive the auto Kia Soul. And she loves driving the manual and she can drive the shit out of it
I learned to drive on a tractor, and a three-in-the-tree Edsel. This is my first AT car, my previous seven have all been MT's. It would never occur to me to blame "only 200hp" for my failings as a driver. The cars limitations are even more fun than its strengths, and the transmission (AT or MT) has nothing to do with it either way. Your ability to shift gears means squat, except for those whose only ability is to shift gears.

This whole thread is about appropriate gear choice, and it seems (from this thread) that only AT drivers are aware enough of whats ahead of them to know how to do that, and again, my humble AT can drop two gears as fast as an MT driver can.

Odd how the only people who complain about the powertrain of this car are MT drivers.

I can think of one member on this forum who (claimed to) drive an AT and constantly trashed the FR-S for absolutely everything.

There's a reason you were banned

You're way too smug and deliberately attempting to provoke others

Not once has what you described ever happened on the forum and I dare you to find an example of that

LOL I don't fail as a driver. I've probably been driving longer than you've been alive. I can drive a stick shift, i own a stick shift and I'm not admitting my last seven cars were sticks and now I drive an auto for some reason, because a 200hp car is best in auto, knowing full well I can get the most out of any car in a manual. Because I don't really believe any of that and it really doesn't matter what I believe. You seem to have some misconception that people that drive manuals don't know how to drive? Which is backwards of what most people think; that being, people that drive autos don't know how to drive. The car drives for them. Well thats what most think. Sometimes people that drive autos don't wana drive stick no more and sometimes people that drive autos can't drive one, and I have a feeling you fall into the second category.

But go with your story, and I'm sure you can get someone somewhere to believe you bought a 200hp auto car because you were just tired of driving manuals. If this car only came in auto, I'd would have walked right past it. Its a freaken sportscar!

The last you'll get outa me from this thread, the battle will rage on, autos vs sticks, imports vs domestics tocoma vs jeeps and no amount of threads in no amount of forums is gona make people change their minds about their choices.

I just don't see a good side to an auto that is 200hp, but that's just my opinion. Next thing that we'll see is I GOT A GOOGLE SELF DRIVE CAR AND I CAN DRIVE BETTER THAN ANY MANUAL DRIVER

HAHA

So back to my original reply

LOL Okay

Agh, another good round of MT>AT, sorry I missed all the fun but it's probably just as well.

I had to go back and try to figure out exactly where the whole MT vs AT debate started here since it seemed to appear out of nowhere. Seems one person could not read and slammed another for being slow because they had an auto when the other person very clearly was talking about how slow his MT was. This one misread of a fact lead to the whole mess. We could very happily be arguing about how slow the car is and it's inability to keep up in stop and go traffic but noooooo it had to turn into a fight about trannys.
