OFT updates

If there is an update to the OFT, does that necessarily mean that I need to update my car? I am running Stage 2 UEL with 93 octane. Didn't know if I needed to update the car as well as the OFT.

If the update is a tune then yes. If it's specifically for the OFT then no

I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question but when the oft updates when connected to my computer, do those updates include the new updated maps as well? For context, It's been a while since I updated my oft, I noticed new maps were available and connected my oft to my computer and it ran through a bunch of upgrades. Do those upgrades also update to the latest ots tunes or do I have to do that manually by downloading the new ots files then finding the new files that match my car code (I.e. A01C in my case) and put those in as custom tunes?

Also side note, how safe at the ofh tunes to run? I noticed the disclaimer saying they recommended analyzing the run data and refining it since they are more aggressive than the ots tunes. I have an ofh, Perrin CB and nameless hfc down pipe. Would I be safe running the ofh tune or should I stick to the ots tunes. I don't track or push my car very hard, just looking to safely optimize the performance of the parts I have.

Thanks in advance for any input

The auto update the oft does when conbected to internet are only oft features logging etc.

Any tune updates must be manually downloaded from the oft downloads site and unzipped then uploaded to oft then car see oft tips link below

So I followed the steps and the video from your link but still seem to get tune not compatible for some reason. I think the problem may be by oft firmware which is at 1.36 and doesn't seem to change when I plug in the device to update. I thought the newest fw's were over 2.xx right?

Aside from that I've double checked the cal id's and verified that every file loaded on the oft was .bin and there was no mismatching of file types.

Any suggestions?

You are on the latest firmware, 1.36.
The 2.XXX are the tunes, the ones you download from the Downloads website and unzip

Sorry. BTW, I'm looking for functionality support as I have already mentioned on here about not have certain data log channels working or being reported on the OFT. I understand there is a fee for "custom tuning" but I have been asking for help on simply certain functions that I would like to be working normally as is should like I guess like most others but me.
