There's nothing on the Michelin site that says anything about that nor does Google have anything. Pretty sure in tests with them both the Super Sport comes out ahead.

This is really derailing the thread but...
http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article...uper-Sport.htm

Quote:
"So the Pilot Sport 4 replaces the Pilot Super Sport?

- No, the Pilot Super Sport will continue to be made in sizes where we have some OE fitments, with some of those in production for many years to come."
The Pilot Sport 3 is not a replacement for the Super sport.
Quote:
Will the Pilot Super Sport be replaced?

- Yes, there will eventually be a replacement model, which will continue the Pilot Super Sport design ethos, and improve the performance of the tyre. As with every tyre we will improve the performance and move forward.

Based on those two quote they will be continuing making super sport for cars that come with it OEM.

For the rest of the public we will be buying PS4 if there is not an OE PSS size available.

Am I reading that right? If so the PS4 is going to be as good or better than the PSS and in essence it is replacing the PSS

You're reading it right. It will be "as good" as the PSS but better in the wet and I think longer tread life.

But notice how carefully they aren't exactly saying it's the "replacement."

So I was finally able to put on my new Avid wheels on Thursday, and had to get them balanced this morning.Name: avid1-2resized.jpg

I bought these wheels brand new off a guy for real cheap, but the size was 5x114.3. I obviously had to get adapters but I wasn't prepared for how far out they would go past the fenders. I thought they would be flush, but they actually poke out just a bit.

After me getting use to the look,I actually like it a lot. There's still a lot of wheel gap,but I like it with the beefy looking tire.I think if I would've went with a narrower stretched tire,I would definitely need to drop it.

I'm running Avid.1 AV-06 17x8 Hyper Black wheels with Sumitomo 235/40/17,and neo chrome lugs(forgot the name of the brand though).

Next thing,Beatsonic carbon fiber sharkfin antenna, followed by Seibon carbon fiber front lip, side skirts and rear diffuser.

A couple degrees of camber will fix it if it's not poking too far. Just my .02$

Yea, that OE tire illuminati talk

I guess they have to as a manufacturer of OE tires take a certain line in their official statements

Let's just say if you can make your Super Sports last another season, I suggest waiting a bit.

Nah they aren't too far,it's just that I wasn't use to seeing them like this.I actually really dig the look of it now, mainly because no one is running a set up like mine.If I add camber and lower,it'll look like every other stanced 86.

The most I'll do is try to find thinner spacers to get it more flush with the fender, but I think I'll only do that if I decide on lowering springs.

What are the wheel specs? The smallest spacer adapters I seen are 15mm

You could do a hub conversion if you REALLY want to keep those wheels.

Considering how affordable the wheels are and the fact that he can get them in the right fitment, I don't understand how it could possibly be better to shoehorn 5x114.5 onto 5x100 with adapters than just sell these and buy new in the right size.

I didn't say run crazy camber and slam it to the ground. Lowering and camber don't have to man it's stanced. I have -3.5 front for racing purposes but it's noticeable visually. But it doesn't look like a drift car, that's for sure.
