No, OFT Stage 1.

However! I do stand corrected. After some driving around, I did let the car idle with A/C off, watching with Torque. Temp climbed to about 212, before the fans kicked on and brought it all the way down to 198. Temp needle did not noticeably move. I was wrong!

Yeah, they fooled all of us with that convincing temperature "gauge." On the other hand, I understand why they did it. That's all within the "normal" operating range of the vehicle, but if they put a real gauge in there they would constantly have people in the shop who see their temperature going up and down and panic. I just think it's funny it can swing 40 degrees without the needle moving a micron.

All right, maybe we can end the fey partisan remarks right here and put the thread back on the rails? Unless there's a truly funny quip, of course.

Is the BRZ in question a Premium, or a Limited with the dual-control HVAC?
If it's the Limited, you can direct fresh air into the car without heating or cooling by using this sequence:

* Use the row of toggle switches to turn everything off.
* Push the vent control button (in the center of the fan control dial), repeating until you have chosen the air outlets you want.
* This will give you a gentle flow of untreated air from from the outside.
* Unfortunately, if you turn the fan dial to force air through in greater volume, the A/C immediately engages.

OK, THAT is a great trick. Just tried it on my Limited. Thank you sir!

OH, and interesting about the faux(ish) temp gauge. My wife's 2015 OBW 3.6 sits in the same exact position @ 12:00 when up to temp. Fooled me.

Thats odd.. My AC doesnt turn on automatically from just adjusting the fan speed. Also, if you want no heat or AC, you gotta turn temperature all the way down to "Lo" and take AC off.
