Here's what that looks like vs. a real driver's car in the hands of a real driver:

I was. Mustangs attract a disproportionate share of stupid.
I understand the idea behind this car. And I believe in it, that's why I spent way too much $ buying it the day it hit the US. But I also don't agree with that kind of elitist attitude toward other types of vehicles.

And power means a lot despite what people say. A racing driving is going to lap a mustang faster than a twin. Probably you and I would lap a mustang faster than a twin lol

"The feels" of this car is great. But everyone enjoys their own kind of feel

It's not really an elitist attitude, considering that we're driving a $25K car.

For me, it's disgust with posers who buy something they think is cool and then try to pretend it's something it isn't. There's nothing wrong with straight line power. That can be a lot of fun. There is something wrong with buying a straight line car and pretending its a sports car, or worse, trying to convince everyone else that it's a sports car.

There's also something wrong with acting like a douche in the car on public roads and smashing into other people who were minding their own business. Or rolling the car onto your own head. To be sure, there are some douchey people driving twins also, but not to the extent that you can set up on the side of the road and get video of three wrecks from drivers of the car acting like morons.

That's not what I meant when I said elitist.

I bet if you went out polling 90%+ would identify a mustang as a sports car. IMO splitting hairs over the definition of sports car is silly. And to put down a group of enthusiasts over it is just...

End of the day people buy a car and try to show it off and spend money on it because they like cars. And in that regard everyone has their own "cup of tea".

I know there are some people out there who really like Mustangs, and I'm mostly just having fun at the expense of the douches among them. Mostly.

But I really can't think of another group of "enthusiasts" with such an innate propensity for douchiness. Honda ricers and the brodozers come close, but the Mustang "culture" seems to be more pervasive and enduring.

People using their cars for things you don't use your car for does not make those people not car people.

It would be more fitting to say something like "There are a lot of people who buy mustangs for the image, versus the driving experience," rather than "Mustang drivers don't like driving because they didn't buy the best handling car available."

I was like ok bro... You do you and defend your mustang purchase. Who cares if it's a sports car or not. The GT spanks tons of cars, and that's all that should matter. Just don't call it a sports car
So the twins are GT cars as well right? given that they have 4 seats... what's your definition? You have to make some half-ass definition of a sports car to include the twins and not a mustang.

He could say, 150 torque? pathetic. The new 5.0 and 5.2L engines are not to be scoffed at. They put out great numbers. 400 ft lb of torque is crazy specific torque. Would be like 160 out of a 2L. amazingly great numbers.

Why do people look down on the modern mustang and camaro so much? they are very capable cars. All iterations, from the turbo i4 to the v6 to obviously the v8 are much faster than the twins on the track, in both the straights AND the corners.

why are car enthusiasts so tribal? It's pathetic. Why can't you appreciate both cars? or all cars for that matter. Why does everyone these days want to feel like a special-snowflake of some in-group and to pretend they are special and better than everyone else.

If you're referring to me:

First, I said nothing about Camaros. I don't recall anybody talking about Camaros.

Second, I'm not looking down on the Mustangs. They're not great cars, but they're not terrible either.

I'm looking down on the idiots who seem to be drawn to them. That's why your Camaro comment doesn't make much sense, because Camaros don't tend to attract douches the same way as Mustangs. Yes, there are douches attracted to a variety of cars. But Mustangs in particular are douche magnets.

Because all cars are not worth appreciating. Some cars are outright terrible. Most are just forgettable.

Lowest speed per corner formatted as (brz/eco-boost mustang)
1: 87 / 92
2: 33 / 35
3: 42 / 45
4: 40 / 42
5: 52 / 54
6: full throttle
7: 64 / 65
8: 45 / 45
9-10 complex: 43 / 46
13: 34 / 37

final time: 1:31.27 vs 1:27.84

So remind me again. Which one is the cornering monster?

don't knock the current gen mustang/camaro. They are potent cars.

Ahhh the usual pull numbers from random tests done with different drivers and different conditions gambit.

Carry on. I love watching bench races.
